Utah lost the game, UF didn't win it. So many different plays went UF's way. . . the fumble at the goal line, the UF fumble bouncing back to UF, Utah's QB taking a crap down his own leg 2 or three times, fgs instead of tds. . .

We eliminate just a couple of those type of mistakes and we win, even with AR having a good game.

Sounds like Utah played the game against Florida like we have many, many times....

They absolutely did. I knew the game was over when they kicked a field goal in the first half inside the 5 yard line. They had 4th and 2 at the 3 yard line and Florida took a timeout. Then, Utah comes out and tries to draw Florida offsides and takes a delay of game. Butch Jones would be proud.

I just found myself in a college football recruiting rabbit hole and one thing I read was that Ladd McConkey’s dream school growing up was UT.

Back to FL, are we pulling for KY next week?

Yes. One of my favorite things in life is this scenario:
1. KY beats Florida.
2. KY plays Tennessee with a solid record
3. Tennessee does what Tennessee does to Kentucky
4. Kentucky loses out to finish around 6-6

Disagree. He thrives on blitzing that doesn't get home and creates lots of open field to run. That was exactly what we tried to do last season and why we were terrible vs running QB's. You hold your gaps and keep his butt in the pocket. Then you change up your coverages and hope to force him off his initial read and try to throw into windows in coverage. Will he hit some. Yes, he is talented. Will he make good decisions and throw accurately consistently the entire game? I think that is much less likely. In the open field we got no chance of slowing him down. If we let him make hot reads and let them dictate his throws by passing when the down and distance is in their favor.... won't be good.

So after watching the other SEC teams yesterday---

Yes we scored a bunch of points on a bad BallSt.... I hope reports are true that we purposely didn't show much on defense, or our secondary and lack of penetration/rush on the edge and D line could give us trouble in the coming weeks against much better SEC teams. I also believe we kept it vanilla on offense...

Pitt will be when we actually see what we have to work with this season and who has stepped up and improved. Several of Hooker's throws were high and late... these will get picked off against Pitt and other teams. I am optimistic about our run game and Pitt's lack of, as a key for us this coming weekend. Their team is very physical and I hope we rise to the occasion.

Not sure how good FL is or as many are saying, that Utah is overrated and made too many mistakes...

I think we can get to 7-8 wins, but there might be a few lucky/ugly wins which we will take. I am cautiously optimistic about the season that we will be in every game fighting and won't get blown out by anyone, but I still think we are another year or two away, especially on defense to get to a solid 9-10 wins... we still have too many areas of light depth and inexperience to expect more than 7-8 wins this season.

SO GLAD we hired Heup and staff, this was exactly what this program needed! We are getting high character athletes that are bonding and buying into their way of playing and the skies the limit for this program, which is so refreshing and exciting!! GBO!!
