Have you tried Bowmans Brothers? It's buffalo trace juice that they distill again and age. Same mash bill as Blanton's.

Can’t say that I have. I have a few guys who work at Total Wine in TX who steer me in the right direction. One guy who has similar tastes in bourbon as I do is my go-to. He said Bowman Bros is so-so. I have stayed away as a result.

This guy tells me when he thinks something is overpriced or when it is worth it.

You're right. That's list isn't impressive at all. That's only 43 DB's placed into the NFL in the last 21 years. That's only slightly better than 2.0 DB's per year. He clearly sucks.

Playmakers don't matter if the QB doesn't have time to get the ball to them. Build the front, hope like heck you can pick up a guy in the 2nd or 3rd that can become a playmaker.

Personally the big money Ryan got was premature, dude had a fluke season…ultimately the person who should have received it got it but it took a minute…Ryan has been in the dumps since..offense playing may have something to do with that idk.

Bowman Brothers isn't expensive, at least not here. If you don't care for Blanton’s, you may not like Bowman's. They're very similar IMO. I think it would be worth a try though.

Kelly is under a lot of pressure I am sure..The Athletic Dept is humming and she is failing. Tough spot for a VFL.

But really LV are my last concern if we have failure. A shame really as it is the preeminent sport of UT historical success on the back of Pat.

That is a recruiting problem as much as anything. You have to recruit shooters. UCONN is playing the way elite teams play - shoot 3s, win. We are playing 1950s basketball because we can't shoot.

I think it’s more of a development issue… the Lady vol brand still recruits itself kinda in way till this day even with our yearly slumps.perfect example is Sara Puckett..highly ranked coming in with a lot of hype and what has she done?..anytime there’s a coaching change I always give them 2 or 3 years and then I start watching the players for improvement individually and I’ve seen nothing from the starting 5 that I would write home to momma about.

I think that whenever DW decides it's time for a change being a VFL will not be a prerequisite. There will never be another Pat and trying to bring in her old players to be what she was isn't the answer.

What am I wondering?

Simply incredible he is shooting 8-10 from 3 in a game. I don't think any of our post players would have that state line for a whole season, much less a single game.

I haven’t seen many dumb penalties. Most of the PI or holding in the secondary were good penalties to prevent a big play. Scheme definitely plays soft coverage and our super experienced safeties are just not good, especially Tank. Hopefully he gets the bench next year

I recall quite a few defensive holding calls and some PIs where the ball was underthrown and the DB wasn't tracking the ball and just ran through the receiver.

I found a stat that was something like we were the 10th most penalized team in the NCAA this year, as far as penalties per game, but it didn't break it down by type of penalty.

I was surprised because I didn't think of us as drawing a lot of penalties, but I do recall a number of them in the secondary.

I've been thinking that it might be a lot harder to hire a top notch coach for the LV job. I'm not sure how many coaches would be willing to attempt to live up to a legend like Pat. No matter how well they perform, they will have to live in that shadow. I believe that is Geno's problem. No matter what he accomplishes he will never be Pat.

Seems like this igbinsun kid is doing everything in his power to not come here. Not gonna lie it’s really starting to piss me off. Kid did this in high school and is doing it again. If you don’t want to come here that’s fine but stop dragging the school and coaches along like puppy dogs

This is just my opinion, but I think s number of the biggest LV boosters are among the loudest and most difficult to deal with. Time to look outside the program,IMO, but I doubt it happens.

That’s true! Hope it happens whenever it does. Although there is one option that I’d personally would be open to is Lawson at Duke. She’s done well there from what I’ve looked at the last two years. Other than that I don’t see anyone in the LV tree really worth going after
