I would not be totally shocked it UT coaches made the decision of him not being at UT. Our coaches understand that when our guys are healthy we have more talent at DB than fans think. And they put lots of weight into culture fit. If he told our coaches he was coming and these trips have been something more than what was expected by our coaches... they very well could have said thanks but no thanks. Especially if he contacted us and said "you want to match the x- amount of $$$ that Ohio State just offered me."
I know this post will be followed up by the obligatory "there are high schools with a better secondary than UT" post by Weezer.
Is it they struggle or the don't place as much importance on the portal? I think this staff wants to build from the high-school ranks. I think they'll take players that fit what they're doing but I don't think they're going to bring in drama. Too much risk in doing that.*Disclaimer - The opinion I'm about to state will be unpopular with some of you. Feel free to disagree with me in a respectful manner.
We struggle with portal recruiting. We don't suck at it, but we don't seem to be able to close on highly sought after players. Last year it was Verse. This year, it's Igbinosun. We can fill needs with adequate players, but when it comes to the portal, the big names seem to be just out of our reach. The possible exception being WR. But we could probably turn our waterboy into a stud WR. That's just how good Heupel is at offense.
I’m pretty sure you’re that message board genius guy posting crap like this just so you can quote it and act like an actual UT fan said something this stupidI’m going to be honest with you I’m ****ing ecstatic that Igbinosun isn’t coming here. Kid seems to be a cancer and he has pissed me off enough that I don’t give a flying **** where he goes.
Tbf he is still young and has a lot under his belt. Maybe they're extrapolating. Not saying he'll pass Brady lol, but he likely has 10+ years left and could add #2 this year. That puts him well ahead of anyone not named Brady...path-wise.Does anyone ever watch First things first with Wright, Wylds and Broussard? I swear the Patrick Mahomes stuff is getting ridiculous. It’s as if greats like Manning, Brady, Favre, Montana, Elway and Rodgers have never existed. Calling Mahomes the best to ever do it? Insane.
Nah I’m dead serious. I understand the new age of nil but this kid just has something about him I don’t like. He did the exact same thing in high school, and I don’t think he’s worth the risk of messing up our locker roomI’m pretty sure you’re that message board genius guy posting crap like this just so you can quote it and act like an actual UT fan said something this stupid

Why do UCF fans hate Heup so much?

Agree "best to ever do it" would be jumping the gun by quite a lot. But he has the chance to put himself in that conversation, undoubtedly.
Maybe there's a middle ground here?
