I will say this for the gumps. They have an absolute stud out of Georgia in Caleb Downs. That kid is special and will be a Top 10 draft pick in the secondary So much talent

We filled needs, but we have trouble with the big names. Like I said, the exception might be WR. We seem hesitant to pursue the big playmakers to begin with, but then to strikeout on the ones we do pursue sucks.
Yeah, we will see what the future holds though. It could be those "big names" also want big money that we don't want to pay. And I certainly understand that. It can't be good to pay a dude more than what guys who have been loyal to the program are getting, without him proving himself to the team. Notable exceptions would be a position like QB.

This transfer from Ole Miss toyed with us last year too. He shopped himself around to the highest bidder and after a solid season he's shopped himself around again. Sounds like a selfish kid but idk. If he ends up here, cool, but give me 5 of those guys like the BYU transfer.

UT tried to help Igbinosun get in school to play spring ball and earn a starting spot, which he said he wanted. UT doesn't guarantee a starting spot to anyone. I wouldn't worry about this one. At all.

Sounds like a kid who is more of a problem than it’s worth

Agree on this except I’d put AT ALL.

Doesn’t sound like our staff is willing to bring in guys like this(some of Texas A&M recruits). Their priority is the money/themselves and not the team. It’s a tough challenge for college football coaches. There has to be a balance. Yes you want to take care of your players($$$) both they need to be focused on getting better and the welfare of the team. I feel like our coaches are doing a solid job filtering through. Plus there will be more options after spring.

He’s not a bad kid or a cancer…..just a new NIL world we live in. We can’t say, “ kids should get paid,” and then complain when they fish for the biggest payout, but I freaking hate it…….never liked the NIL and still don’t, but it is what it is

Sadly it's basically college's version of free agency. Only you have each player outta HS on a 1 year deal only.

I was thinking too this guy may be more trouble than he's worth, it's not like he wasn't getting PT at Ole Miss and he picked them over us before.
