This team has lost 4 games and only 1 was to a good team. Barnes has to get some shooters in here. Just dont have 1 player that can go get you points when you need them. Vescovi cant create his own shot. It has to come from a set play. JJJ he is streaky and ZZ is the only one who comes close to a guy that can get a shot. I like Barnes and love the Defense but you got to have a good offense and tonight proved that and so did the Colorado and Ky game. This team still has 2-4 loses coming and I hope I am wrong

I love Coach Barnes, love what he's done for TN basketball. I can see both sides though. If you're OK with being guaranteed a ticket to March madness and you don't care if it's 1,2,3 round loss, then you'll be happy. Nothing wrong with that. History has proven that that's what your going to get with Coach Barnes. Once you get to that level though, it's human nature to want more. It will be that way in football if Coach Heupel continues to put 8,9,10 win seasons but doesn't get over the top. I'm 100% happy with Barnes, have been since day one of his hire. But I realize we'll be lucky to get to the round of 8. I'm ok with that.

Almost every single coach in college basketball loses in the first two rounds about half the time. We have one sweet 16 out of 4 trips. We aren't going to lose in the first two rounds every single time. Rick has made it deep multiple times, just not as often as you would like. The tournament is just really random. We could be one basket from losing in the second round and making it to the final 4.

The hand wringing after every loss is soooooooooooo stupid

We are Tennessee basketball. We are ranked NUMBER TWO. Our team is good enough to win it all.

Literally every single team in the country has had stinkers like tonight and multiple ones at that. Even 1 loss Purdue. They have that 1 loss and they almost lost to 9-12 Davidson.

Basketball is always inconsistent unless you are unusually great.

I am hoping for the best but preparing for yet another disappointing season. I think we will have a good season. I think we still have a decent shot at beating Bama for the SEC title. I just don’t know how confident I am in this team in March.

I'm extremely confident. No worse than sweet 16.

CRB is 25-26 in the tournament in his career. Not a good record through 51 attempts. Ranks near the worst unfortunately. Happy he stabilized the program though!

Where's my hand wringing? The team is ranked number 2 for 5 more days. That doesn't mean anything. They'll not make it past the sweet 16 and that's OK. And, Barnes deepest run was one sweet 16 since he's been here. There's nothing wrong with having realistic expectations of your program.

Nope. I've given up on JJJ being a killa. Not in his nature to dunk on someone. He'd rather shoot bricks from 3. Phillips has the potential. We haven't had a killa since AS.

I'll take 2-4 more losses. Putting us at 6-8 losses and 28-32 wins. Pretty darn solid season. Would mean Barnes has given us fewer than 10 losses in 5/8 seasons and 3 years in a row. Last time we even went back-to-back <10 loss seasons was when Jerry Green had 3 in a row from 1997-2000.

Also going back-to-back 25+ win seasons. Last time the Vols did that was 2017-2019 and before that.... never....

Never have the Volunteers won 25 games back-to-back except twice in the last 6 years if the boys do it this year.

I think this team just doesn't have 'that guy' for the 'have to' situations offensively.

Collectively this team is elite, at times. And this team is capable of beating anyone. It's also capable of putting up a clunker...

As is always the case, when we get in to post season, match ups will be huge.

Anyway.. I hate losing to Florida but I don't want Rick Barnes going anywhere. This program is so good now, relevant every year and getting to talent regularly.

And at the end of the day a regular season road loss isn't that big of a deal, especially considering who we have left in front of us on the schedule.

Everything we want to do is still in front of us.

people remember Admiral admirably (woah) because of what he did in the big games, especially 2018-19:

Not to mention his dunks, threes, steals, blocks all came at very very crucial times. Even in games that he didn't dominate, like you say. It was always what the doctor ordered. He either set the tone with a dunk or met the moment with a crucial play.



Look at his confidence on offense in that video. This team is missing that.

He wanted the ball in his hands in big moments and either made the play, or drew the D so his teammate(s) could make the play. AS is as close to a killer as we've had in the Barnes era.

What? As a senior Admiral had only 4 games where he failed to score 10 or more. He shot 47.4% from the field and 41.8% from 3, while averaging 16.5 ppg. If Santi or JJJ was doing that this team would be undefeated.

You're just resigned to believing a sweet 16 is the ceiling?

Barnes underachieves in the tourbament, but he's still made it to the final four and elite 8 twice. His odds aren't as great as coach K or anything, but it's still very possible we can make it past the sweet 16.

Georgia firing Richt after going 10-3 is something I wouldn’t ever see Tennessee doing if put in the same situation.

Majors was 29-6-2 the three previous seasons before his last, 9-3 the year before his last, and 5-3 his last season.
