Not to mention, Mark Richt was better than Ray Goff and Jim Donnan, but something tells me they don't regret replacing Mark Richt with Kirby Smart. It's better than having the Counzo Martin, Donnie Tyndall, Wade Houston, Buzz Peterson etc etc etc of...basketball.
Like the baseball team losing the most important series in history to Notre Dame last year??Don’t lose to the programs we hate most. Simple. Miles better than Kentucky and UF, don’t lose to them. It’s this kind of inconsistency that is the big knock on Barnes
Georgia firing Richt after going 10-3 is something I wouldn’t ever see Tennessee doing if put in the same situation. Not to mention, Mark Richt was better than Ray Goff and Jim Donnan, but something tells me they don't regret replacing Mark Richt with Kirby Smart.
And before you go there, no, I don't want to see Barnes replaced. I'm wanting him to coach here until retirement. But when he does retire, I hope the next coach can get over that invisible hump that always seems to catch Barnes' teams.
Saying I can understand someone's POV doesn't mean I share it. Stop being so damn grumpy.

Is this really serious? Barnes is 9-8 against Calipari and won a game EVERY single season. Yes, the UK who is a blue blood.
I swear, people are ridiculous. Barnes is literally the best coach against UK that I’ve seen in my lifetime. Frankly, it’s incredible.
Coach has been a great thing for UT Basketball. He’s helped revive that brand that Bruce started in 05’ after a few bad years. It helps UT immensely. He made Tennessee a better job for whenever he steps away to make a good hire. A hire Tennessee probably wouldn’t have been able to make without his work at Tennessee. Plus Tennessee added AD White and that was really tremendous as well. I have full confidence going forwardI love Coach Barnes, love what he's done for TN basketball. I can see both sides though. If you're OK with being guaranteed a ticket to March madness and you don't care if it's 1,2,3 round loss, then you'll be happy. Nothing wrong with that. History has proven that that's what your going to get with Coach Barnes. Once you get to that level though, it's human nature to want more. It will be that way in football if Coach Heupel continues to put 8,9,10 win seasons but doesn't get over the top. I'm 100% happy with Barnes, have been since day one of his hire. But I realize we'll be lucky to get to the round of 8. I'm ok with that.
we're also not Kentucky, hiring Cal thinking they're gonna rip off 5 titles in a decade, buying the best year over year. I would be eternally bitter. Not to mention, Mark Richt was better than Ray Goff and Jim Donnan, but something tells me they don't regret replacing Mark Richt with Kirby Smart.

I’m as big as a Barnes defender as there is. He should be coach here until he decides to retire. Lol. But I’m just stating facts as well. He’s done so well here, he’s raised the standard of the program. Losing to that Kentucky team at home was an ugly loss. And losing to this UF team in any capacity is an ugly loss. Both ca be true. I’m not hating on him, I’m just stating why he does get hate from a portion of the fan base.
If you don’t understand that any UK team can beat UT, then I’m not sure what to tell you. Jody Meeks brought a bad UK team into Knoxville and beat a good Pearl team. This year’s team still has the conference player of the year and other pro players. It’s basketball.
The last thing to argue against Barnes is his record against our rivals. I think we’ve beaten UF six straight at home and lost 4 of the last 5 in Gainesville. Again, it’s basketball.
Our kids do give us strength, don’t they,? I wanted to throw in the towel a couple of times over the years myself lolIt actually depends on the couple. It was hard on me and took me years to get to the point I started to believe and know I would be okay. It helped? that I had a teenager to raise and support on my on, which I did. .
Replace the Colorado and Florida losses with Texas, Kansas or Maryland and I do t think people are so mad. It’s beating teams like those and playing zona tough and then losing to fl tonight in an uninspired effort that looked like the loss to Colorado, that is what’s got people so frustrated……. It’s the same thing every year it seams. We win big ones and lose bad ones and then **** the bed in the tournament. Rinse and repeat next year
You’re taking a broader view of my posts homie. I get that. But. This is a “in the moment “ reaction. I don’t like losing to rivals as favorites, as a team that should honestly beat this UF team by 20 points minimum every time they play. Yes it’s basketball. I get how it works. And yes I’ll say things you’ve said to ultimately defend Barnes in the long run. But dammit tonight should have been seven straight against UF. And no. That Kentucky team doesn’t even belong on the same court as the this UT team. That was a major upset. If you’re gonna get upset, leave it at the Colorados and not the Kentuckys and UFs please. I’m gonna be pisses losing to the schools anytime, especially as favorites. Called being a fan. I can be upset at these ridiculous loses but still ultimately support Barnes. It’s not rocket science. Some people think they have to have sunshine up their ass 24/7 and quite frankly it gets old. Let fans, ya know….fan. It ain’t a black or white process.
