We knew you were mocking Barnes haters and drama queens. For the record, all my negative Vol baseball posts last night were jokes. I’m excited about the season and hope Vitello coaches here for life.
I’m actually not worried about the hitting. Arizona is a good program and their Friday night starter looked legit to me. I bet we start raking before the weekend is over.
It is all of these rules changes they have made in an effort to speed up games. Once in the box and pitcher toes the mound they are not allowing time to be called.
A batter can’t call time if it’s 5 seconds or less on the pitch clock….. I hate the rule…. So silly.I didn’t see it, but I believe the home plate ump later gave time to an Arizona batter. I don’t know the rule, but what if the pitcher addresses the runner and stands there for 10+ seconds? That can be considered an advantage.
More offense and the use of props would bring in more fans….. a pitch clock is just going to annoy the fans they already have.Baseball is trying to speed up games to expand its audience just like football, years back, made rule changes to generate more (exciting) passing and more scoring for the same reason. Television.
I'm actually a little surprised people are freaking out over one baseball loss.Hell a lot of Vol football and bball fans also don’t know anything about those sports. And not just on SM. Ever visited a game thread? As soon as the opponent scores a TD it’s lights out for the season
I think it was demonstrated that the biggest idjits in the baseball game thread were trolls. When I showed blocked content to see who was being objected to, I saw several people I had blocked for football trolling. And the people faux-complaining in this thread were mocking Barnes haters.I'm actually a little surprised people are freaking out over one baseball loss.
First it's been silly how many overreactions there have been to basketball, but it's sad that they're doing this for baseball my god.
Why did we do this?
Anyone that knows baseball knows the front runner usually never wins the National championship. Take a look at Vanderbilt’s championship teams. They were good no doubt but they peaked later in the season and their record wasn’t absurdly terrific. Give it 15 games and then after Tennessee finally gets the Kansas kid and the other fella back we’ll start seeing some hitting. Pitching staff was pretty good last night against a good hitting program historically in Arizona
