Thankfully any 3s we get from him will be a bonus. We were missing someone that can take the ball to the basket. Hopefully he’s not another Anosike.
That’s what we should be worried about…. I haven’t seen many guys that aren’t lights out shooters that translate to bigger schools…. Plus you want your guy that drives hard to the basket to be able to hit free throws…. He only shot 63% from the foul line…. I don’t think he moves the needle much at all but I would love to be wrong.

Nope. Ignored him. Spent my time trying to pick up a drill or two and talking to the Strength Coach. Only thing I could learn from Pruitt was how to be an arrogant jerk. Already know how to do that. In hindsight though, I like your ideas better.

Tar and feather him next time you see him and all will be forgiven. 😂

If we still ended up hiring Heupel on the same date and we've had the same success since he's been here. . . not considering the NCAA problems. . .

Would you have rather had Butch Jones for an additional 3 years or stick with Pruitt for those years?

Fire Butch.
Hire AD DW then hire CJH. Then there would have been no ncaa issues at all. 😎

I know you were joking around but as someone who coached youth basketball….. the two most cringe statements that I hear from other coaches/parents are:

Follow your shot and Box out.

What’s wrong with box out? Just curious…I always wanted parents to yell encouragement rather than playing instructions…yelling “Defense” is okay. 🤔

One thing that bothers me about basketball now is that many players and teams don’t really even try for the offensive rebounds. Jack up a 3 and start towards the other end of the court.

I feel like you've pounded the table for this concept in here before and got flamed lol
Probably so….. doesn’t mean I am wrong though…. The problem with sports…. Most people repeat the same thing since they were kids without actually studying and trying to get better.

I get flamed for my point of view on this… teaching pro shot form in basketball…. HLP pattern when hitting in baseball…Absolutely hate parents coaches telling kids to just throw strikes…. I’m a big boy so I can handle the criticism.

Most youth players won’t even understand what “high level pattern” means.

What parents yell…. Don’t really bother me…. It’s just encouraging bad habits…. You do box out but not the way it’s being taught…. We know that the overwhelming amount of shots go back side when missed… we should be teaching players to run to where they feel the ball will go and clear out to get the rebound…. Right now the majority teach players to try to box out directly after the shot…. If you are not where the ball is going then you took yourself out of the play.

As for following your shot….. I would rather the shooter follow through and finish his shot( plan to make it)…. Encouraging kids to follow their shot…. Too often leads to a hurried, rushed shot with poor mechanics.

I don’t teach it to many players unless a kids parents wants me to help work with them…. I just make minor adjustments to their swings… I am teaching my son the swing though…. Last year…. The coach I helped kept making comments that my son was popping up( just started working on it)…. He told me that’s why he doesn’t teach launch angle(not what I teach)…. He quit making those comments as my son got better and better at driving the ball.

It's where you have a high strike out rate right?
Not at all…. It teaches launch quickness….bat comes from behind the back through the zone…. Bat is suppose to stay in the path of the ball longer….. critics claims it leads to higher strikeouts…. Almost all MLB players hit using the same style…. Strikeouts are up in mlb but I think that has to do with how hard guys throw now with so much more movement.
