If they had attacked China instead of the US, then history would be different.

Are you referring to Japan? They were at war with China for more than half a decade before PH They remained there until the final days of the war when USSR finally declared war against them. p.s. I'm late to the conversation and may not know the extent of the talk :)

Really nice clubs. Forgiveness and pretty soft feel for a cast iron.
I prefer forged, but the G430 is a solid set
peay question. I am 60 and play with 25 yr old cleveland set. Hit the ball pretty good for my age but looking maybe to upgrade a little and play more often. Irons only right now good on others new TM driver and Calloway 3 metal. Cost matters a little but can be had. thanks

Japan was also upset with the Treaty of Versailles. They were "at the table" but were left of of the major discussions.
"The Japanese delegation had two major goals for the Versailles peace talks. First, it wanted to establish clear control of the German colonial possessions in China that Japan had occupied during the war. Second, it wanted to be recognized as a nation equal with the other Western victors of the war. This latter goal included formal recognition of racial equality. Japan formally proposed to include a racial equality clause in the charter of the League of Nations, the international peacekeeping organization that was a major proposal of the peace negotiations. The Treaty of Versailles guaranteed Japan control of the previously German territories in China. However, the European Allies rejected the racial equality clause. This rejection planted the seeds for tension to grow between Japan and the leading Western powers. Eventually, it would lead to the Japanese government’s evolution from cooperation with the West."

Ian W Tolls trilogy on the war in the Pacific is long but not to be missed. Great modern analysis and interruption.

I talked to P5 coach over weekend. Staffs are going to be less focused on high school recruits. Why focus on recruiting players that you develop and then they can leave for any reason. The focus is swinging towards getting players out on portal who will have burned their transfer (as mentioned in a previous post).

Coach said this will especially affect OL and DL recruiting. He believes most P5 will only recruit 2-3 HS linemen on each side of the ball and only take players they think can play immediately or players that have a high loyalty to school before recruitment.
He talked to one OL coach at an ACC school and they are considering only taking one HS olineman this year. They have lots of NIL money to draw proven transfers.

Players that have been transferring out of UT this past year were nudged out for a variety of reasons-- not a great fit, academics, work ethic, violation of team rules. Some didn't fit the system, didn't fully buy in to the culture, wouldn't do what they needed to do to compete or just couldn't get a spot. It's been a pretty amicable parting of the ways. I'm surprised a few more didn't exit, but them staying and competing says a lot about our coaches and the state of our programs. It's nice to see the stability paying off.

Will be interested to see what happens with Whitehead... if we see him break the two-deep, something is amiss... Same with Beckwith at KY...maybe just need a change ...
Ok thank you. I thought Whitehead was already at Ky. Twas Dee.

The "athletic tweeners" seem to have such high fail rates. Give me ballplayers.

Mizuno JPX Hot Metal
Ping G425 or G430
Callaway Mavrick.........The new Paradym irons are booty.

I'd stay away from Taylor Made and Titleist.......if you are looking for more of a "game improvement" club. Their "players" clubs are great, just not the "game improvement" stuff.
You can get some good deals on '21 or'22 models. If they are still in stock.

No matter what.........Get custom fit for shafts.

Say what you will about the NBA, but I think a Lakers-Celtics Final would be pretty cool.

That's the only Finals I personally don't want to see...

Nuggets vs 76ers was my original desired matchup... but Heat or Celtics are about the same, probably lean Celtics cause Grant.
