I mean...why wouldn't we be talking USD exactly?

I think moving forward I'm going to just use Indian rupees when I reference the cost of American hotels in American cities because they remind me of Zelda.

Assumptions make an ass of you and you. Not me.

Zelda was impossible. At least as a 4 year old. Up there with Metroid. That damn game was nuts.

Didn't Stevie Nick with Billy Joel play Knoxville?

Yep, Chris Stapleton, KISS, we've had some HUGE acts and they sold out as well.

I think UT wanting to invest in making their facilities more profitable for non university activities is a smart idea. As a county Knox was the 5th highest growing in the entire state 3 of the counties ahead of them are near Nashville. Montgomery County was the 4th.

So population growth is here, location is great (close to Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Lexington, Cincinnati, etc.).

TN as a state grew nearly 9.8% in population from 2010-2021 which was 2.5% higher than the national average of 7.3% in US.

Nsiap - youtube version. Seems like a great cultural fit and when you see his vertical your eyes won't believe it. Could be an insane TE.

Edit: sorry still blocked 😅 now I realize I've added nothing. Taking a lap

Some of you are grossly underestimating the amount of money that’s made by restaurants during football season. I worked on the Strip in 98 and servers could make their entire month in 2 days ( even slacking you could make 700 to 1200 in tips with bartenders making even more).

The restaurants themselves were bringing in eye watering amounts of cash on Fridays and Saturdays and in good years game day starts weds/thurs and ends Sunday morning. The Strip only fell apart because the city wanted it to. Businesses made more than enough during football season to carry them through the summer months (no different than any other seasonal business) but the crackdowns on crowds and alcohol destroyed the Strip.

If it’s managed well a distinct like this could do even better because it would have actual parking. That’s a major reason things stayed lean during the summers on the strip. (/long winded reminder that ERs are boring places 👻

Calling me an ass because YOU assumed we would all be talking pesos about hotel costs? ;)
It's not my fault you're living in the past with your silly green money. Meanwhile I'm living the high life as a peso millionaire and wampum billionaire. Granted, everything costs way more. But now I'm rich.

I worked in a sub shop in the 1980s that brought in around $300 on a normal business day. It was just off the strip on Melrose. On football Saturdays, we brought in well over $2500 for every game, regardless of when it started. It was insane.

Yep and the numbers for those selling alcohol was absolutely nuts. Even hosts and bar backs were making big money from their cuts out of tip pools while servers and bartenders were making rent plus utilities plus a car payment in a matter of hours. There were places on the Strip setting franchise records.

$300? I hope that was profit.

We only had a license to sell beer to go. You could not drink it in the restaurant. That rule went way the hell out the window on football Saturdays.

I think that there was an award at Wendy's or McDonald's on Cumberland for having the most total sales in an hour in franchise history.
