God’s got ya! Prayers.*sigh* off to the hospital we go... Please keep my dear one in your thoughts and prayers. His confusion level is up high enough for concern and he's at the hospital now (his nurse called the ambulance). I'll be on my way there as soon as I get some things together. The past week has been really, really difficult but his current hospice told me they'd have no issue re-admitting him which eases a lot of stress. I'm hoping it's something relatively simple that can be fixed. He's not been the same since his last hospitalization earlier in the year but I know in my heart that he can cycle back to me. I miss "him" (he's been here physically but mentally he's not been himself completely - even on good days - and more than anything I want our time together to be with him present and aware). Right now though, he's barely cognizant.
there were a lot of dives, empty buildings, and shitholes. Some of you are grossly underestimating the amount of money that’s made by restaurants during football season. I worked on the Strip in 98 and servers could make their entire month in 2 days ( even slacking you could make 700 to 1200 in tips with bartenders making even more).
The restaurants themselves were bringing in eye watering amounts of cash on Fridays and Saturdays and in good years game day starts weds/thurs and ends Sunday morning. The Strip only fell apart because the city wanted it to. Businesses made more than enough during football season to carry them through the summer months (no different than any other seasonal business) but the crackdowns on crowds and alcohol destroyed the Strip.
If it’s managed well a distinct like this could do even better because it would have actual parking. That’s a major reason things stayed lean during the summers on the strip. (/long winded reminder that ERs are boring places![]()
Devo, let me be your travel agent. I'll save you 50% on hotel rooms (compared to the rates you've listed)...Where were you looking???
Hotel Tonight app has Times Square Luxe hotel for $300 this weekend, normally just shy of $600

When I was a student at UT, we didn’t tailgate in the traditional way - The Strip was one giant tailgate!Yep and the numbers for those selling alcohol was absolutely nuts. Even hosts and bar backs were making big money from their cuts out of tip pools while servers and bartenders were making rent plus utilities plus a car payment in a matter of hours. There were places on the Strip setting franchise records.
Very sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you. We had a German Shepherd when I was a kid who got arthritis in his back legs so badly he couldn't get up. We had to carry him home and get something to put him "to sleep." I still remember it so clearly. It is hard to have no good choices. Our two year old GSD that wifey and have now is so precious to us. I don't know how I could stand news like you just got. Sorry about the vet situation too, of course. You will be in my thoughts.Dog got diagnosed with cancer a couple months ago. He's been a trooper because he's a very good boy but it sucks.
The initial testing and treatment has been incredibly expensive. Like never-trust-my-vet-again expensive. I certainly could not think less of Blue Pearl now, where he is receiving treatment.
I can't even get a second opinion or meet with another Dr because all the oncologists and other vets are on a 60-day wait, minimum, because all of the people/pets that have moved here.
Anyone else had to go through this? My only options are spend thousands or let the cancer have its way.
What kind of cancer does he have?Dog got diagnosed with cancer a couple months ago. He's been a trooper because he's a very good boy but it sucks.
