It’s a meaningless tournament…. Who cares?
It actually does matter insofar as we needed some wins to get a home regional.

We are awwwful away from home. I think this would be 5-15. Last week sitting at 3-13 we were the worst road/neutral team out of the top 150 RPI. Haven't looked again, but iirc it would still make us one of the bottom 3 or 4 teams out of that range.

Said it all down the stretch, this team especially really really needs a home regional.

But yes I'd normally agree. But this team has a particular weakness and this hurts chances of a super regional quite bigly. Nothing is impossible, but living in the realm of probabilities and likelihoods, not good.

This is the biggest load of crap myth that people for some reason keep believing

I’d like to see some evidence either way. OM was “on the bubble” last year, lost their one conference tournament game, and made it with a losing conference record.

Just doing some quick research, 5 of the last 8 national champions did not win their conference tournament. One didn’t play a conference tournament, so it’s really 5 of 7. Another is Coastal Carolina. Vanderbilt is the only P5 team since 2014 to win both. Don’t really think it’s a myth.

Edit: 2012 and 2013 champions were from the PAC 12, and they didn’t have a conference tournament. 2011 USCe didn’t win the SECT either. The evidence is weighing greatly to it not being a myth.

Ole Miss was 23-11 away from home.

Completely different beast than a team with a .250 win% away from home.

No way. They were 12-10 in the regular season, which is the record used by the committee. Maybe you used the postseason, too. But they won only 4 of 10 SEC series, so how can you not ding them for being swept twice at home? Goes both ways.

In some instances I wish we'd have invaded Japan. I may not be sitting here but, total submission would have been perfect for them.
We didn't have to lose a million+ of our men invading those fanatical idiots thanks to the Manhatten project...**** everybody that gripes about us nuking those lunatics.

12-10 is significantly better than 5-14. Tennessee has one series win on the road and it came last weekend vs a hobbled USCjr.

I’ll be the first to admit, I gave up watching not because of our away games, but the lack of consistency and cohesiveness of the team. Before anyone pounces, I’m new to watching, but I can still feel something is off.

Well, the irony is that a PGA player didn’t win the PGA championship. Whatever one thinks of LIV, that is ironic.

On a doubly-ironic note, I think Brooks will be back on the PGA Tour pretty soon.
I know that you know that that PGA and the PGA Tour are two completely different entities...therefore it is not ironic to me...only to people that are ignorant about that fact.

If it was PGA Tour running it...Keopka nor any other LIV golfer would have been playing.

He and Cam Smith were their two biggest takes with Dechambeau right behind...those guys will win more majors...they are great golfers.

Keopka only plays like this in majors anyway, so this situation is perfect for his sandbagging ass now that he is healthy. It is kind of obvious to me that the PGA grind is hard on the Tour players...these LIV guys have figured out how to not let the joke LIV format and schedule dull their ability...but like I said, this was always BKs schtick, so it is perfect for him....he only gets up for and actually tries in the Majors.

I don't like the guy because I don't think he even likes golf.

As embarrassing as us being in the #1 slot is, tiger high is listed 3 times as the opponent who is the embarrassing loss to. 😁

It took us being in this position to get us to where we are now. 🤠

15-0 🤠

Anyone ready to be #1 at the end of this season?

#2 OSU getting smoked by 4 TDs to unranked Perdue should be #1 on this list.

Welp...we lost a 💩ton of cohesive talent and leadership...and it showed. We will always have years like this...it's just baseball.

I get the struggles, but OM won 1 series at home last year, so I guess the moral of the story is who cares what you do at home? It goes both ways. OM got hot late in the regular season just like us this year.

Good stuff and I fully agree with you. I did not mean to imply that causing Pearl Harbor was our goal. I have read a lot about our actions leading up to Pearl Harbor and, while I do believe that our actions support the theory that we either expected or wanted what we saw as an inevitable clash, I definitely do not think we anticipated PH. I think we misjudged Japan's capability and willingness to strike us first.

We got lucky with our carriers not being wiped out. Our mobilization of resources to respond as quickly as possible, the skill of our naval commanders and bravery of sailors and airmen who were at a disadvantage in those early Pacific encounters is legendary stuff. The Pacific naval battles are more interesting to me than D-day primarily because the margin between who won and lost was razor thin until we got fully mobilized on that front. Had a few battles gone slightly differently then the world as we know it is vastly different.
Naval Intelligence expected a Japanese attack was imminent.
The expectation was an airstrike against the Phillippines. It was well within range of the Japanese Navy, and would limit our reach in East Asia where their navy was attacking. The Japanese surprised with an attempted knockout punch straight to our strength.
They were never underestimated after that.

I am not griping. I said they deserved to be brought to their knees. I didnt say nukes werent bad. My point is that had earnt the we gone take over mainland Japan badge.

That was for the season I saw, yes. Fair point.

Regardless, with your reg season numbers, still comparing a 55% win% vs maybe 25%. Worlds apart.

Point is I wouldn't be concerned if we were at least > .500 on the road, especially being in the SEC. But this has been one of the worst road teams in recent memory. Surely you have to accept this team's odds plummet if they have to travel for their regional. That's all I'm saying. This team is especially needing to be home, above and beyond most teams.
