Tack on the Ole Miss series and SECT and we're on a 7-3 heater after being 3-12 to start the season.

We turned the corner as a road/neutral team at the...absolute...last moment...and it's all that matters now

The upmost reason on why not to panic or accept defeat during the season. Unless your team just outright sucks, and will NEVER catch fire...as long as you can hang around, hang around, hang around, the moment that spark goes off, it's truly like two different ball teams. We have actually seen it happen the last two years. Baseball is the wackiest, most unique sport there is, imo...catching fire right at the exact moment can make the Oral Roberts of the world as deadly as anyone.

Brutal way to lose. Soul crushing. Hate Texas, but man, I feel for those kids in the outfield that lost the ball. That will haunt them for a long, long time.
Why hate Texas? I mean yes, clearly, we are the real UT. But other than that, I hold no animus. Now Florida? Oh lord, please curb stomp them in all sports.

Honestly, losing game 1 and going to the loser bracket with our arms is very dangerous. We can make noise from the winners bracket or losers bracket.

You have to think you win 1 with either Lindsey or Dol.
Interested to see what order they roll with. Would hate to get bounced without Burns or Beam having an opportunity to pitch. Wouldn't hate to see Doe vs LSU then Lindsey if we win and Beam if we lose.

prediction from another site about who we will get:
Tennessee’s (hypothetical) 2024 SEC opponents
  • Alabama (home)
  • Vanderbilt (away)
  • Oklahoma (home)
  • Georgia (away)
  • Auburn (home)
  • Kentucky (home)
  • South Carolina (away)
  • Ole Miss (away)
Id rather play texas than Oklahoma, just for pure entertainment purposes

Steele's Power Rankings:
*I am only going to post the rankings for SEC teams, our opponents, and the teams above 120 points (means good team) so you can get an idea for where we fit nationally

Georgia 137.24
Ohio St 135.19
Alabama 135.16
Michigan 134.37
Penn St 132.44
LSU 131.84
USC 131.72
FSU 130.17
Notre Dame 129.74
Clemson 129.70
Texas 129.62
Tennessee 129.59
Oregon 129.19
Utah 128.64
Washington 127.78
Oklahoma 126.50
TCU 125.70
Texas A&M 124.94
Wisconsin 124.89
Oregon St 124.73
Kansas St 124.08
Iowa 123.94
Texas Tech 123.70
Ole Miss 123.44
UNC 121.40
Arkansas 120.82
South Carolina 120.76
Kentucky 120.41
UCLA 120.29
Florida 120.15
Illinois 120.11
Miss St 119.65
Auburn 119.25
Mizzou 117.09
UTSA 115.46
Vandy 109.46
Virginia 105.02
UConn 99.43

I know that some will get upset because of where we are ranked, but I actually gain confidence in our ranking knowing that we beat beat that same Clemson roster handily and destroyed LSU on the road. I'd probably put us more in the 132 range, but we're up there with the big dogs for the first time in a long time.

I think A&M and Ole Miss are also undervalued on this ranking.

Surprise Teams for 2023 - "These are the 12 teams that have a shot at stunning the NCAA":
1 Wisconsin
2 Texas A&M
3 Texas
4 Oregon
5 Washignton
6 Utah
7 Iowa
8 Oklahoma
9 Oregon St
10 UNC
11 TCU
12 Tennessee - they were nearly a surprise team last year as they were unranked int he preseason but were #1 in the CFB rankings and 8-0 when they lost at UGA. They were upset by SCar or likely would have been a playoff team. They lose their Heisman candidate at QB but replace him with super talented Joe Milton who did well in two starts and they have the best defense Heupel has fielded in his 3 years here. They do play Florid and Kentucky on the road and draw Bama and Texas A&M from the West, and of course play Georgia, but if Milton has a year close to what Hooker had they could surprise.

Thanks, @BigSteve09!

I'm fine with it as you say. We're high enough to be in striking distance, but low even to possibly relieve some pressure. Can hardly wait for the season to begin!

So in a world of "fairness" and no more divisions we'd have to play Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and Oklahoma anyway?

I wouldn't be shocked.

So Sabey would be telling Sankey to give us Bama + GA, even after divisions are eliminated, and also to replace Mizzou with Ole Miss and a down Florida with a rising Auburn. Okla kinda makes sense because Heup makes that a hype game. But that would also make Mizzou a hype game for us. Of course we are recruiting MO hard, so it is "better" to eliminate our face time there. We'll see.

If Bama is not playing GA, the schedule is BS. That's the national game everyone wants to see in regular season.

Thanks, again.

America's greatest living writer, Cormac McCarthy passed away today. He was an immeasurable talent. RIP.
Ugh, that one hurts.

There are authors who inspire you to write but Cormac was not that for me. When I read his work I just marveled at it and thought, I couldn't even approach that with a hundred years of trying.

Despite some other titles getting more attention, Suttree is my favorite book I ever read, and would be even without my personal familiarity with the setting.

Has anyone else, besides The Athletic, confirmed Nico got $8 million? I've seen it said a hundred times; but, the source is always The Athletic.
I think it's *up to* 8mil. . . actually think it's lower than 8. . . I think the caveat is 3yrs vs 4 or 5 years in college.

I’ll wait until it comes out on Netflix.
The one to see is the Russian one (if you deal with subtitles) directed by Sergei Bondarchuk. It's an absolute classic and it's been remastered on blu ray or dvd. It's a long flick. It's two blu-rays. I don't see it on any streaming service. You would have to get it from Criterion Collection or new or used from Amazon, et al.

I am going to buy it one day. I could send it to you after I watch it, if you're interested. But I was mostly clowning the guy trolling @BigSteve09's enthusiastic info posts. 😂 Of course, now you're prolly clowning me. 😂

I expect at least 8-4. That should put us around #20 if we finish 9-4. We've overachieved in y1 & y2, so I could see 10-3 or potentially 11-2 again. . . definitely top 15+ at that rate.

Exactly. The high road isn't even on the map whenever it has come to sh!tting on us.

The moment Evan Russell was accused, on national TV, of being on drugs, was the moment "classy" fell from my want to. I have known for 30 years how easy it has been for EVERYONE to take their shots at us, laugh at us, and outright screw us...and, yes, I admit, we brought a lot of it onto ourselves; yet, I stayed tamed. Never again after the Russell shot; and, the fact the dude was allowed to still call games, let alone not fired...again, **** class!
Ah. . . I almost forgot about that. It's insane for a professional to state something like that without undeniable proof. Did he ever get reprimanded, outside of a short apology afterwards?
