Any of you out there with a big enough brain to explain this to me?

I bought a phone from a guy I know. I reset it to factory settings after removing the SIM card. I haven't put a new card in yet and have just used it with wifi so far.

I usually just leave it at home, because of no mobile data on it. However, I accidentally brought it with me instead of my normal phone today. I got a few notifications and realized I shouldn't be. I turned wifi off and checked the internet and still had connection. . . no sim card and WiFi off, still connected to the internet. How is this possible?

Sometime it can take the apple servers a while to purge an itunes account, or the moran didnt log out of find my iphone.

In all seriousness, no, I've never heard of that. Is it an Android? If so, are you sure you didn't remove an SD card? Many phones have two SIM card slots. Did he have two Sim cards?

Text yourself and see who's phone number comes up.
