Hard to disagree with. At least in modern, western civ.

All goes back to German (ethnically) nationalism and all the crap happening from 1880 up to the actual outbreak. But it spent decades and decades boiling up. Disastrous for everyone else.
It was hundreds and hundreds of years boiling up...if you go back to the end of the Roman Empire it was 1500 years of maneuvering for supremacy of the continent.

It didn't just effect western civilization either...it affected and determined the course of the whole world.

It was surely one of them. And Wilson's role in provoking and greatly prolonging the war on behalf of our country was an absolute catastrophe. I don't want to stray into the matter. Suffice it to say, the war would have ended fairly quickly by armistice except for Wilson promising to enter and continually delaying, while selling weapons and running a racist propaganda campaign against "Huns." That's why the Allies would not come to the table and millions of young men were killed for nothing. Then Wilson's moralistically posturing and idiotically punishing them so extremely severely at Versailles that a rebellion against that Treaty was foreordained. The two World Wars are really one war. The rise of the Soviets in devastated Germany originated in the same mess, but I'll skip that, except to note that the post war inflation there was so extreme that it required wheel barrows full of money to buy bread.
🤦‍♂️...sorry...I don't buy into the Wilson hate...and I don't want to argue about it either. That war happening and being the apocalypse that it was had not a damn thing to do with Woodrow Wilson or the United States...it was inevitable with Germany's egoistic nationalism, militaristic ideology, inferiority complex...and idiot ruler.

The Brits and French were in no mood to take it easy on Germany after the war..and after what Germany did to France..and even worse what the scumbags did to Belgium just for being in the way...I don't blame them even though it was shortsighted.

I bet you anything they try to get out of at least one of the UCF or Miami games
But if you think about it, Miami was a 5-7 team last year, and while UCF was 7-5 the 5 losses were to Louisville, East Carolina, Navy, Tulane, and Duke. (Tulane was pretty good.)

True but both teams should theoretically be better in 2 years.

I looked at the newly released SEC schedule for 2024 using this year's updated SP+ rankings/ratings as a means of estimating strength of schedule. Everything will likely change, maybe significantly, before next year, but I figure many both inside the conference and outside will be assessing the schedule based on present perceptions. jmo.

I just added up the conference ranks and ratings for all 8 opponents for each team so the lower the ranks number the harder the schedule and the higher the ratings number the harder the schedule. I also counted how many opponents were projected to be in the top half of the conference this year.

I've highlighted teams that SP+ projects in the Top 8 of the conference for this year.

I thought I'd visit the swamp for a sanity check on my analysis.

This could be a rough year. I would hate to be Napier in 2025 if both ‘23 and ‘24 are 6-6 seasons.
There won’t be a ‘25 for Napier in that scenario. It’s on him to make sure we recruit and bring in the talent.
Might be the end of a short career. Hope Lagway is ready from Day 1.
I gotta think the athletic department has to be kicking themselves for this scheduling because I honestly think this is the toughest schedule I've ever seen...and oh yeah this will come off the heels of Napier's 2nd season which not too many people are bullish on.
Just spitballing here, but if for some reason Samford backs out of their game, the Kansas City Chiefs have an early bye that week and would be available.
That's a tough ass schedule.
That’s got to be the toughest schedule in the nation. We’re ***hed!
Probably not. Vandy is off the schedule so won't have to worry about that one.
Brutal. Of course we lose the 3 worst teams in the East (us aside).
The end of the Napier era.

Joe’s is over rated. Q39 is much better imo. Wife is from KC so we are up there frequently.
Q39's popularity is subsiding and it was just ok to me. Next time you are in KC, give these three places a try: Meat Mitch in Leawood, KS, Harp BBQ in Raytown and Slaps over in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood. All three are very good.
