Imagine being able to just switch your team.
Agree if it's where you were born or who you root for naturally - ex: Tennesseean rooting for Vols.

But for those that are from Tennessee....rooting for say, the Panthers, Falcons, or Braves...that was their first mistake. And they deserve no reprieve.

Utz bought 'em out in 2016 and I guess post COVID has decided to just get rid of them. No official announcement or anything, but just closed a big facility in Bama.
I didnt realize UTZ bought them. . . UTZ makes some weird marketing decisions. They dont even sell their best flavor in most locations.

I wonder how that affects the Braves fanbase as a whole. Lots of Braves fans in Middle and East TN.

Will tenured Braves fans in Nashville disown the Braves and immediately cheer for the Nashville team? Or just simply have 2 teams to support.

My experience: Grew up in Connecticut a childhood Mets fan. Listened to them on WFAN on transistor radio under the pllow

My education and career have taken me to WDC, ATL, Dallas, and now Denver where I have cheered for, attended, and owned merch for Redskins, Wizards, Falcons, Thrashers, Stars, Cowboys, Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, etc.

Was even a Rockies season ticket holder for a year.

But I have always remained a Mets fan (photo from my Rox seats with Mets in town)IMG_1133.JPG

So what baseball team should we bravo fans root for?

When I grew up in East Tennessee, you either became a Braves fan or Reds fan. I chose the Reds with the Big Red Machine. I expect that if/when Tennessee gets a baseball team, the younger fans will become fans of that team. Though, not sure that's happening with the Titans.

Anyone but the enemy.

If UT ceased to exist, you wouldn't run to UGA or Bama would you? Go root for BYU or TCU...just not the bad guys.
Thats a false equivalence because there wasnt a TN pro baseball team that ceased to exist. So your solution was just to...not root for anyone until some indeterminate time when Tennessee got a baseball team? Idk man, seems silly.

Which MLB team was I supposed to root for when I became a fan in 1990? A Southern team or some Yankee, outsider team?

No it's the same. To root for anyone but the enemy.

Like a mid 90s football fan. You don't run to the freakin Falcons or whoever. It's why so many went for the far-distanced Cowboys.

Braves fans just can't come to grips with their cognitive dissonance. Their own radio guy literally hates UT through and through. And people go elbow to elbow with these folks?!?

Could never be me.

@Mrpeabody8888 is Sam Amick on campus right now? Saw on Twitter someone saying he is but I have some questions about his reliability. However I'm more football and basketball in terms of what I cover so I'm not as tapped into the baseball recruiting/portal inside info. So do you have an update on what's going on there?

Billy Amicks visit starts tomorrow when Tony Vols is back in town. Sounds like Ryan Galanie and Nate Snead might be Vols sooner than later.

My sister (and mom by extension) are shooting a show or something where they renovate a youth center in Kentucky.

All good...but this part of her message made me LOL

"Just keep our renovation in your thoughts and prayers as we head to rural Kentucky for an entire week"

An entire week in KENTUCKY...

Some of us grew up watching the Braves on TBS in the 80's. That was how I learned the game. I never even thought it had anything to do with that crapheap in Athens.
