It is better for the environment and leaner that beef and the meat yield per animal that has to be killed is 40x that of chicken.

An interesting way to look at it.

Though I'd be curious about 2 other factors. First is how much feed a pig needs in its lifetime vs a chicken just to get to the point of maturity. All the food needed is an environmental and resource impact in itself. Pig waste is also a big problem. Just ask any Carolinian when flooding occurs

The other is sentiency. Pigs are very intelligent, sensitive, and personable. If not for looking and feeling a bit....different, I'd guess they'd be pets just like a dog or cat for many. Chickens, not so much.

Still like your original point regardless and it makes sense looking at it at a life for life metric - though ofc it has to be scaled at some point. The feed alone for pigs means harvesting and tons more rodents and insects being killed in that process, but I think that has to be taken with measure. Such as comparing an ant vs a pig or chicken's life...

From a discussion on here a few weeks ago - it seems a ton of that stuff has to do with inflammation, regardless of whether or not you eat well otherwise.

Wonder if a low-GI diet would help over time.

Did you know that in his entire career as a head coach (dating back to his time with us), Lane Kiffin has only beat 3 teams that finished in the top 25? He is 2-14 against teams that finished top 10.

I have no problem with people eating boars and I have in occasion because yes they are invasive. Pigs however, may have more yield or whatever they are also highly intelligent. Smarter than dogs. As for the environment, I doubt I'm making a dent either way by eating poultry and beef over pork.

Seriously though I've never been a sugary diet guy. Don't eat candy, rarely dessert. No soda. It's genetic.

Right there with you. Always made healthy choices. My husband does everything wrong. My test results are horrific. Doctors can’t believe how great his are for his age.

I'm was a health freak until last 4 or 5 years still eat healthy but I will eat more ground beef and pork more than in the past. My doctor visits are usually good except for A1C bit diabetes runs in my family I'm borderline take that damn shot weekly Ozempic

Never thought about applying this model to other holidays. We should decorate for Christmas, like a month early and see how these fireworks bastages like that. Maybe we can convince local radio stations and stores to bombard them with nothing but Christmas songs from November through New Years. Now we are thinking!
