was hoping after walking 15K steps today, and fighting he-who-doesnt-sleep well, to get to sleep at 930 ... that they'd start shooting them off!Oh yay. They are shooting fahrworks again tonight.
Since the practice of applying leeches isn’t prevalent nowadays…Hey @VolsDoc81TX or other medical professionals of VN. Is there any medical benefit to giving blood on a regular basis. I gave today and was just wondering. I intend to continue giving blood as I am O+ but was wondering if it was beneficial for my health as well. TIA.
I heard this or read this once. No clue if it's true because I never followed up with it but I heard that men who give blood regularly have a smaller chance of heart disease than men who don't. Said it was on par with women's chances. Article likened it to women replenishing blood supplies from their periods each month and that was their reasoning.Hey @VolsDoc81TX or other medical professionals of VN. Now I wish they would skip Limonband go to Roaton Island Honduras, that place was beautiful...but at least I can add another country to those I've visited.
It's weird that Limon is considered so bad because all I have heard for years is how great Costa Rica is compared to the other Central American countries, and I thought Honduras and Belize were great when we visited so I wasn't sweating Costa Rica...I was looking forward to going there and now I'm sketch about it.
Probably isn't even as bad as San Fran and LA though...the freaks running Cali have turned those into 3rd world countries that really wierded me out when we were out there.

Do you know anything about MTHFR?With cholesterol and dementia in your family, you should get your APOE genetic status checked. You may well have one or more copies of APOE4. One copy increases your risk of Alzheimer's from 9% to 25-30%. Two copies increases that to 50-90%. In either case you can fight it with nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle. Key points to focus on is lowering insulin, fasting glucose, and homocysteine. Look up Dr. Dale Bredesen.
