Still find it strange how much better/smoother our offense seemed to work without Tillman.
Hooker developed an (understandable) reliance on him, specially when games tightened. He fed Hyatt against Bama, but spread it around better…example money time to Bru.

My friend, who is a drummer for a local band, just had twin daughters last night................................

he named them: Anna 1, Anna 2.
I think this is appropriate for this hilarity.

Tillman wasn’t 100% healthy after the Pitt game so it’s hard to know what it would have looked like if he had ever gotten 100% again.

I didn’t know I needed to say that it was an opinion….. I’m obviously not a time traveler…. Some of these proclamations that I have seen….. Jerry Rice couldn’t live up too.
Cept he did…far as we know? Got any Mississippi Valley State fan projection posts circa early 80’s? Whatever they “expected” from him? He OBLITERATED! In the latest VQ podcast, Hubbs recalled a conversation with Garner over Jamal Lewis and his belief that Lewis end up at FULLBACK due to his size. Think Jamal Lewis exceeded expectations as a true freshman?

I followed the season…but thanks. 😒

Even tho he beasted against Pitt and scored the winning TD, that perceived reliance on Tillman could be speculated as a factor in that being an unnecessary barnburner. In our two losses, he was available…no not 100%…but available and Hooker possibly forced the ball to him.

I think that is an assumption and we are not as efficient when we struggle to run the football….. that is just my opinion of course.

“Tennessee’s offense was better when Tillman was out last year”

Not necessarily, if you look back at the first two seasons under Heupel, it took our offense around four games to finally hit our stride, in 2021 it was game 5 @ Missouri, and last year was honestly Alabama as we had a lot of hiccups in the Florida game and LSU’s defense was tough and we were gifted good field position for 4 out of our 8 scoring drives. I think Tillman would have only made it more explosive if he was healthy the entire year

I’m talking about Jerry Rice from the NFL….. All Pro… HOF, Jerry Rice…. It got the point that it sounded like fans thought it was a combination of Antonio Brown, Jerry Rice, Megatron, and Bo Jackson after the catch while high stepping like Deion Sanders into the end zone…. I think he will be great but will probably be a little disappointing to fans who have their standards set unrealistically…. I hope he explodes and dominates though.

And I utilized "possibly"...so aren't we both models of presumptive restraint?
That’s why it is a discussion…. All our semi-struggles were usually tied directly to how we ran the football… Teams that held it in check usually had success stopping our running game from chewing up yardage.

Probably not any proclamations(I usually don’t do those)…. I did talk about how dominant Tillman was in practice…. Hyatt was just the obvious choice after Tillman bc his skill set was best to be the leading receiver… I do think Donte will be great… we still overrate the guy with some of the comparisons that I have seen by our fanbase.

Don’t sleep on Keyton. We potentially have 4 receivers who would be the number 1 option on a decent majority of teams this year.
But the way they all compliment one another is what’s so exciting—the entire playbook is open with them.
And I also think Milton is going to shut up a lot of people this year.
