Funny but true story. Back in '79 or '80, my 1st cousin was building a new house a few miles south of Lebanon. As he was starting to move in, I was tasked with moving some items and placing them in the crawl space. I noticed a cardboard box approx 12" square and 8-10" deep sitting next to the foundation and knew it must have been left there by the construction crew. I retrieved the box and, lo and behold to my surprise, it was practically full of marijuana. My cuz, who didn't ever partake was pondering calling the sherrif's dept but I talked him out of it and convinced him that I would take care of it, which I did................................

We rented a car for a trip my wife and daugher were going on. They stopped to get gas and, upon opening the fuel tank door, found a bag of weed stashed in it. She called me after she had already called the cops to come pick the weed up under the premise that if she got pulled over she would get busted for it, lol. And then she started freaking out that the cop would arrest her for possession. :)
She seemed to have some sneaking suspicion that I had some deal setup where a dealer would stash the weed there for me to pick up since I originally was going to go on the trip (which was not the case but would have been impressive planning on my part). I told her that if she wasn't going to bring it back for me to partake in that she should have just thrown it away. Luckily the cop took her word and didn't bust her. And was probably laughing about the whole incident after smoking the weed!

1st Vols game: 2006 in Knoxville vs Kentucky. Vols won 17-12 in a relative snooze-nooner. I remember Justin Harrell was a senior with a torn bicep. Played in the game. They retired his number during the game for *Albert Haynesworth (92).
2nd Vols game: Wyoming....
3rd Vols game: 2012 College Gameday against Florida....
4th Vols game: Pig Howards OT fumble vs Georgia
5th Vols game: Palardy game winner against ranked South Carolina.

Then 4 years of being a student going to every game, couple away games and bowl games.
*They retired the #92 for Reggie White

Did that many times with whatever collected wheels could be mismatched. 😂 Biggest hill we could find. Solid gold.
Most kids nowadays wouldn't have a clue how to "invent" and "constuct" many of the "toys" we would ride and enjoy lol. Heck, we'd use old wheels off lawn mowers, wagons, big wheels, etc. Nothing was off limits as long as it would roll lol.

"Hey, that wasn't my car!"

An attorney friend told me of a guy arrested on some drug charge when they allegedly found it in his pocket. She said he walked into her office and said "I don't know how that got there. Those weren't my pants!" 😂

Dang the last month has been extremely busy for us with our garden this year. We have already canned 164 qts of green beans, 28 qts of spaghetti sauce, 32 qts of tomatoes and put up 54 bags of corn! With all the rain we've had this summer, our garden has produced like gangbusters! Between us both working full time and doing all the garden work, I have barely been able to keep up on here!
Fahr the garden. . . who needs food when you have the Vols to keep up with?

"Bologna"... This is a BS spelling.

Is it? Or do we just pronounce it incorrectly? Should we pronounce it bowl-og-nah?

I haven't eaten in years. I subsist on grilled recruiting nuggets and the tears of opposing fans when the Vols whoop dat hind end.

Admittedly, I lost a lost of weight over the last 20 years but I am gonna get back to my fighting weight really soon.

bologna - bo lo nya

gn in Italian is an n-sound followed by the consonant y-sound. I think it is the equivalent of ñ in Spanish but non parlo Spagnolo. (Spa nyo lo) (Spanish)

Consider lasagna as a model. Everyone learned the rule when they ate that dish! nya

Edit: Just realized that means the n in baloney is correct! Just replace ey with ya at the end and you're speaking Italian. 😂

But I would never say anything but boloney in this country, unless I was referring to an imported Italian bologna. Sounds pretentious imo.

I don't remember the actual first game I attended. The first game I specifically remember attending was '98 Florida. Nose bleeds, right under the 'V'. Terrible seats, but gave me the distinction of knowing that we won the game a fraction of a second before the rest of the stadium...my view was right over the left upright of the goal post. Watching the UF kick sail left was glorious, and then watching the goal posts floating around on the orange pond was even more so.

I was in similar seats for my first game. 1996 opener against UNLV. Went with my brother, some cousins, and two of my uncles. Whole family grew up Vol fans, but that was the first game at Neyland for a lot of us. It was so much fun.

My first game I went to was 2010 vs ole miss. Vols won big.

My next game was 2012 vs Florida. I was so pissed when I left .

At vandy 2012.. enough said....

2014 Florida. First checker neyland...... no comment

At bama 2015 . A friend that was a bammer invited me. Said he would pay for everything, so I went. I know he wanted to talk some trash thinking it was gonna be a blowout. Towards the end of the 4th was glorious watching him squirm and his plan was about to backfire . But was a good game.

I decided I was a jinx so I didn't go to anymore games. Until last years UT Martin game.
I decided I was jinx until last year too. I chose the Carolina game. I'll never go to a Tennessee football game again
