Interesting. In 2001 we lost to an 8-4 UGA team that ended up losing to the same Boston College team in the bowl game. Look I don’t see why you honestly think we matched up with them. Why? Honest question. Now the 2001 TN Vols ever mentioned as one of the greatest teams of all time? You know the answer. It’s no. Now is 2001 Miami mentioned as one of the GOATS? Yes.

We beat Syracuse 33-9. Miami beat them 59-0. You wanna bring up they struggled with two teams, one of them ranked VT. Ok. In 2001, we barely beat a 2-9 UK team by 3, who by the way had a first time HC. We also struggled with a 7-5 Arkansas. You can pretend like the 2001 team would have matched up with Miami if you want. But they smashed a really good Nebraska team at the end of the year.

Fulmer would have screwed it up

I think they would have been pretty competitive, but no way would Fulmer and Randy Sanders call an aggressive enough game to come close to winning it.

At the time it would have been the pragmatic way to go about it....plus all my stupid decisions were when I was in my 20s, so yeah by that time I would gave done the pragmatic responsible thing.

I mean adding west coast teams to the BIG is stupid, but at least the name of the conference doesn't render it so before you even get the words out of your mouth. Universities in the state of California, which for those of you playing along at home is on the Pacific coast of the United States, joining a football conference that is named The Atlantic Coast Conference is just idiotic on it's face. I mean shut the front door already.

Mebbe. I think he’d have done more with the regular offensive weapons. Don’t see Berry taking snaps from Malone, Jennings, Calloway, Palmer and most likely Higgins (prolly wouldn’t have flipped from Clemson). And the same goes for running back. Hurd would have been a dual threat beast, and Kamara down to Kelly…who sits? I could see Dee Williams being dangerous on offense, but he’s not better than others on the roster.

I was there Monday night on the 3rd base line. Such a great park and we sat in the exact spot where Chief had his tipi at Fulton Co Stadium which brought back some great memories. Dale Murphy was my favorite baseball player as a kid. Go Bravos even though I married a Red Sox girl.

In high school I lettered in basketball after I played in enough games. Probably the same for Tennessee football. 5 games?

UNC running fake classes -- with an NCAA pass to cheat with impunity -- put the lie to that whole scam. To say nothing of other considerations around their league. And recall that UNC's own defense was that academic rigging and lack of integrity is not only for athletes: fake, no-work, no-show classes were available to all students at UNC.
