Well...gents and ladies...today is the big 4..0..for me. My wife wanted a big party for hers. I said just let me upgrade my tv in time for football season. Four days til game week!! Go Vols!

Either way it’s a big change from back in my day when you had to meet the minimum ACT / SAT and your check cleared to gain admission. Guess the lottery has made an impact

There is a lot of appeal in parts of Shelby County. But this is discussed often. I really never get the extreme hate because I believe there are over 10k UT alums in the county.

UT alum, been in Memphis my whole life besides my 4 years in Knox. Memphis is where our family is and there is zero reason other than that to be here. Can’t wait to leave finally when the time comes.

I responded to a poster in another thread who denigraded UTK. I said that UTK is a managing partner in ORNL and asked which National Laboratory that his university of choice manages. Crickets since then. I am a TTU grad Chemistry '81. Worked in Oak Ridge 30 years before retiring.

My daughter just graduated high school with a 4.49 GPA. AP, honors, and duel enrollment classes all increase your GPA as they are harder than regular classes. Plus she had that with a B in one class.

When I was in high school an A in an AP class was worth 6, Honors - 5, Standard - 4.

I'm starting to doubt that stat. Pretty much the same for Huntsville, AL and Beumont, Tx.

That site basically tells folks not to live anywhere. Only place that’s safe is a bunker in the middle of nowhere.

I know it's football vs basketball so not the same but it's still kind of annoying that we dogged Kentucky (justifiably) for naming their stadium after a grocery store and then turned around and did the same thing with TBA.
