When you arrive in Naples immediately get a Taxi out of the city to somewhere on the Amalfi coast. Having seen the majority of Italy, it’s a phenomenal country, but Naples would rank near the bottom for me. Young kids pickpocketing, low tolerance for tourists, etc.

Would suggest staying center city in Rome as all the sites are very walkable for a large city.
Okay, would you scratch the Naples period? This is all in the preliminary stage. We are just planning right now.

Does that make it okay?
No, that’s my point. I can’t throw stones at others who cheated and be ok that my team cheated
There seems to be a lot of hypocrisy (imho) on the subject of cheating (not saying you soda, just in general)
everyone is pretty sure/knows Alabama has been cheating. Now imagine it’s even more obvious than it already is, a la MLB late 90s. So much so that plausible deniability is laughable. But the SEC, NCAA are turning a blind eye because they are benefitting from it. Now imagine UT says, well, I guess we are gonna start throwing around basic dodge chargers too, wins a few NCs, then the hammer gets dropped on us. Well wait a minute, the powers that be were more than ok riding the popularity of the bama cash cow for a while, now they’re gonna come down on us??? Would UT fans be ok w that?
so I think we are picking and choosing what level of cheating is acceptable to us based on who we like/don’t like. Cheating is wrong, on any level, by anyone. I think it’s a disingenuous, biased discussion. Same concept applies to mid 90s Nebraska. Everyone knows they were juicing. Every good team was cheating on some level. Again, We base what is acceptable to us on who we like/don’t like.

We need football! Y'all are getting ornery! Fighting over stupid stuff and taking offense way too damn easily!

"...we beat the greatest team in Kentucky Football history with one of our worst" 😂😂😂

No one will admit because it exposes the disparities in college football but this is a prime example of how scheduling makes a team and their coach look better than they are. Kentucky's success under Stoops is almost identical to Mississippi State's success under Mullen. Both Stoops and Mullen are solid coaches but their rankings and their success at their programs was built upon weak schedules and just like when unranked 6 win SEC teams play 8 or 9 win ranked teams from the B1G or ACC etc. the system gets utterly exposed.

Don't get me wrong, Stoops is solid, but UK's 10 win seasons are as much due to their Athletic Director's scheduling as anything else. The same goes for State under Mullen. The lack of weight given to scheduling is also why TCU got utterly clobbered by UGA.

That's right. Majors kicked off Reggie Cobb for marijuana use and Fulmer did the same to Onterrio Smith and another top RB whose name escapes. Roids way more serious.
Kicking Cobb off that team days before our game at Alabama cost us the chance to play for the national championship that year (1989). The entire team looked like they were in shock.

Bama then lost to Auburn, Auburn had lost to us and to Florida St. (out of conference); so we three tied as SEC co-champs. But the Sugar Bowl picked Bama to represent the SEC, and Bama proceeded to lose to Miami there, and to end the season with two consecutive losses. We won the Cotton Bowl, and ended with the same best-in-football 11-1 record as Miami, who was voted national champs. We would have been the only undefeated team going into the bowl game. It would have been a rematch of the '85 Sugar.

The loss of Cobb and also the timing was horrible.

Miami might have been favored if we had been chosen for the Sugar Bowl, but they were overwhelming favorites in 1985, and we know how that turned out!

I thought Cobb's issue was cocaine.

As for recreational drugs... punishments vary. If you fail an NCAA test, the uni has to follow NCAA rules on that. If you fail an internal test, each school follows whatever drug policy they have in place (it's usually wayyy lighter than NCAA polices). That said, recreational drugs should be treated differently than performance enhancers. The policies we have now are stupid as hell but they're based on the insane "war on drugs" mentality and the policies and laws that we refuse to give up (thankfully we can see a very slow change happening on that front but it's still very slow).

Yes….and still….Kiffin staying and continuing to recruit the way he was would have really really helped our football program in spite of the lack of leadership….instead of really really putting us on a downward spiral to winning 3games in a season! (Not saying the leadership wasn’t bad.)

Umm, no it wouldn’t. His only recruiting class was all smoke and mirrors just like he was insubstantial. It looked good on paper, but very few of those players actually amounted to anything.
I’m glad that the kiffin experiment blew up and the smoke cleared.
Unfortunately, the admin just went all in on a bad replacement and we spiraled out of control from there.

Greenies fueled everyone….. babe took sheep testosterone….. pitchers have used multiple substances on baseballs…. Several players corked their bats…. The list goes on and on.
I have it on good authority that vagisil will give you another 2”-3” drop on your curve ball.
