Didn’t say yours didn’t happen. Just recited my nephew’s. He’s not a Vols fan btw. My life would’ve been complete by meeting Majors and I’m sure I’d enjoy Bruce Pearl…loved every second of his time in Knoxville until the end of it.

Cool story bro. My only interactions with Pearl (other than that one), were at Lakeside Tavern he and his wife were seated a few tables away. He acted like a rockstar. I didnt shake his hand, didnt want to bother him.

Then, randomly one night. I was at stoplight near gas stsruon off n roan in johnson city. I remember it was raining. And, a black Chrysler 300 pulled up next to me. Window rolled down, asking for directions back to Knoxville. It was Pearl.

Guess he'd been at HT Hackney here in town.

No one recognized Barry Bonds greatness when he was clean more than this Braves fan. We got close to landing him…but his heart was in San Francisco (intentional). Tale of the tape side by side, Griffey was the greater talent. Faster, more powerful arm, more powerful bat (when juice wasn’t a factor) and he hit for average. 5 tools better than Barry’s and that would’ve held up if nature wasn’t defiled.

What are you basing these assessments on?

Little Barry was the better hitter based on the old stats too. Same 4 year peaks compared with war earlier -

Bonds ‘90-‘93
.310 / .433 / .595 OPS 185+

Griffey ‘96-‘99
.294 / .381 / .615 OPS 152+

Little Barry stole 35 bases a season
Ken Griffey Jr stole 15 bases a season

Griffey had a better arm and more raw power.
Bonds had the better hit tool and run game.

The analytics of the game I could care less about, I go by the eyetest on the field.... Trout is a good player but is always injured and hasn't lived up to his hype... Ohtani far better than Trout..

Trout couldn't hold Griffey JR. Jock strap playing in the outfield nice try though... Griffey by far was a better five tool player than Trout.. btw check out Cabrera in Miami in his first years playing right field pretty good..

I’ve never been, but loving pizza the way I do I’d at least make a day trip through Naples on the way to Amalfi. My wife did study abroad in Florence and she said the same thing @AppStVol is saying about Naples. Pizza is great, city isn’t.

IMHO need to remain in Naples only long enough to have a pizza. Naples is the industrial shipping center of Italy; think rail yards, tower cranes, and cargo containers
