No pass for Florida. Living in Florida I hear their fans discuss their lack of talent and Napier inherited a mess, blah, blah, blah.... They have the 5th most talented team in the SEC and 2nd most talented team in the East behind Georgia and 1 spot ahead of us. No pass for Florida and Billy Bob.

I think it's hilarious that anyone would consider them beating Utah an upset. Utah lost to them last year and then we saw how both teams went from there. That game is a must-win for Florida. Utah can still win 10 games if they lose that one. Not sure Florida can win 6 if they lose that one. GO UTES!

Mizzu at 24 is surprising.

We moved up from #19 last year to #16 this year. Alabama is #1, Georgia is #2, A&M is #4, UF is #15, SC is #22, MO is #24, UK is #31, Vandy is #57, Virginia is #65, UTSA is #73, UConn is #92, and APSU is #152.

Florida’s average is 89.38, ours is 89.32. The last I checked we both have 16 blue chips in our freshman classes. It looks like our staff is as a minimum keeping pace but maybe gaining on the leaders. There are only so many blue chips per year so I think we move up again next year. The big difference I think right now between us and Florida is coaching and I think with Heupel we have a significant advantage. I think that’s pretty obvious from an objective perspective. jmo.

This is how the rosters changed from 2022 to 2023 according to 247. We obviously made the biggest move among 2024 SEC teams and, as noted, between the efforts of our staff and the support of the members of the Volunteer Club, I expect a similar move with the 2024 class. jmo.

Kudos to everyone involved, especially our fellow Vol fans. #GBO

Defense is difference imo ...Brooks 16 Gold Gloves ,he had 1 MVP season and a World series MVP but Schmidt had 3 MVP's and also a WS MVP... He had better power numbers than Brooks but their career BA are exactly the same .268... So if you prefer Offense it's Schmidt ...
Brooks Robinson is the Gold standard. No 3B has accumulated more Total Zone runs saved.

No player period, actually (more than Willie, Ozzie, Yaz, or Clemente).

But would it surprise you that Schmidt is top 10 in TZR? And he’s a 10x Gold Glove at 3B too. He was no slouch over there. On par defensively with Adrian Beltre & Nolan Arenado per innings played.

If Thurman Munson hadn't have passed away he would be in running at catcher position... What you think?
I LOVE Thurman Munson. It’s a shame he was cut down, and a shame he’s not in the Hall.

But Johnny Bench was better. He just was. He was just flat awesome. And that’s no knock against Munson.

Yogi gets lost as a player. He’s a baseball icon, somewhat overlooked as a player.
But dude won 3 AL MVPs sharing a dugout with Joe DiMaggio & Mickey Mantle. He was awesome, and is #2 behind Bench.

As always, post more!

Ahh, finally a coach has explained the finer points between an college football organization chart and a depth chart on a very superficial level.

All those words just to name drop riding Saban' jock via name drop and say "winning football". Douche

My wife majored in Education in college and went on to get her Ed.S. She also minored in Psychology.

I guess that makes her a little bit psycho.

If it's too good to be true.... Dang I got caught up in a scammer (at least I think they're a scammer). I found a listing on Mercari (used stuff) and the price was def. too good but I figured it was likely either 'hot' or some random just getting rid of stuff. At any rate, I'm talking to them and all is going well. They're like 'you got zelle? can afford it?' and I'm thinking it's a little weird they're messaging me so much but ok. Then they're like "I'm at Fedex now and shipping it" and suddenly showing me pics of their fedex store. And I'm like "hold up, how do you want to make sure I don't rip you off and you don't rip me off?" because at this point they're acting like they're shipping it right this instant and I've yet to pay them.

And I bring up, 'hey you want me to purchase the listing on mercari?' and they're like 'no, last time my stuff got damaged and mercari doesn't cover it so I don't use them... yaddda yadda..."

So I've yet to respond. I doubt I will because I can't see how this isn't a scam. Zelle is great but it doesn't offer fraud protection and the way they want to do this seems sketchy af. Am I overreacting?

The Bama and UGA decline has begun!

Scammers rely on emotion (Greed, fear, excitement...), try to speed you along the process while also bypassing legitimate processes. They also often get weird by providing "proof" of things that you didn't ask for.

This one has the telltales.

So the millions UT gets from TV goes where? Do the millions pay coach and staff salaries? Do the millions pay for academic and athletic facilities, dorms, food, nutrition and aux staff? Do the millions help with scholarship money? I’m seriously wondering…
Probably some of all that.

It would be nice if they did a fan appreciation deal. Something like randomly giving 50% off tickets at checkout. You buy 4 tickets max and just as you're about to pay, you get the surprise discount. Do it every game, randomly, for like 5,000-10,000 tickets. That would be about like doing a full game once a year, but could help eliminate scalpers pillaging all the tickets, since it's random. Or do a game with 20% off concessions and merchandise. They wouldn't lose much $, may even make more, since people would spend more while at the game.

Vols only had like 26 blue chippers last year with a 87.77 rating… huge jump with that top 10 2023 class coming in. Expect the same this time next year as what should be another top 10 2024 class comes to Knoxville

Justin Thomas pick is odd, but yea….I think the team is strong.
I think that pick had a WHOLE LOT to do with the historical strength of his pairing with Jordan Spieth. Also, to me it seems apparent that the rest of the guys on the team are not big fans of Keegan Bradley, particularly after hearing Keegan's reaction to not being selected. I'm not either, BTW.

Good luck with that happening but I get what your getting at...give a little in retrospect people spend more...
