All this talk about pellet smokers….

I threw a pack of Marlboros in with the rabbit feed and I ain’t seen nothin’. Starting to think y’all is making this up
@TrippieRedd could probably get you some good stuff to throw in there. Roll that pellet smoker in your house and you've got a high quality hot box-er.

Offensive line intel from Tuesday’s media appearances –

Omari Thomas was asked what he was seeing from the OLine. He said the OLine is going to be good. They play aggressive. They play fast. They’re physical. That’s what they do. With Cooper out those guys have stepped up. They’ve raised their play. They understand. They’re communicating, going through the offense. You see those guys putting in the extra work. They’re continuing to grow with each other so they’re going to be a good offensive line.

Jacob Warren was asked what stood out to him about John Campbell Jr as a player. Jacob said the biggest thing with Campbell is passion. Maybe what a lot of people haven’t seen about him is his fire, the way he motivates his players and his teammates. That guy came here to win games and he came here to be a part of this culture. Jacob said he gave Campbell a ride home in the spring and as they were talking John told him the reason he came here was it looked so much fun to play here and how much everyone cared about each other. He said that had been all he had heard about this place and we were having success so why not be a part of that. Jacob said Campbell is an amazing talent and he’s going to help us out a lot. Just the passion and the fire he brings for his teammates is amazing.

Jerry Mack said our offensive line has really grown a lot in the last couple of weeks. The RBs know that the OLine is going to create holes, create gashes for them to run through. Mack said our top 3 backs, Wright, Small, and Sampson, have really grown in pass protection, what he called taking care of the trash that might show up in the backfield on passing plays. Small and Wright in particular were motivated by the pass pro struggles of their room during the ’21 season and Dylan from a mistake he made last year in the LSU game. The room takes a lot of pride in their performance in pass pro.

I think Heupel has his last game week media availability later today and the OLine likely gets brought up again. I'll be listening. Tonight is Vol Calls; surely at least one caller will ask about the OLine. I'll be listening for any new intel but so far the word from both coaches and players in the last couple of weeks has been the same, we're coming together fine on the OLine. jmo.
Ok….. sounds good….. let’s move back to panicking about the secondary…. I hear Hadden and McCullough may start. 🤣

It’s honestly not sad at all
He’s had multiple chances
He’s an idiot

Am on the fence here. No doubt making some seriously idiotic decisions just seems this guy has something pretty out of balance upstairs. Is the kind of thing someone might do when manic.

Vols definitely dodged a bullet by not getting him, though!

The Braves too.

Hank Aaron
Eddie Matthews
Ronald Acuna
Andruw Jones
Chipper Jones
Freddie Freeman
Dale Murphy
Joe Torre
Fred Mgriff

And then starting pitching for days.
This has been a fun exercise. Here is my all time Cubs lineup

1B Mark Grace
2B Ryne Sandberg
SS Ernie Banks
3B Ron Santo
OF Billy Williams
OF Hack Wilson
OF Andre Dawson
C Gabby Hartnett

My SP

Greg Maddux
Mordecai Brown
Ferguson Jenkins
Hippo Vaughn
Charlie Root

If I could have that one great year for Sutcliffe and the great couple of years for Arrieta over a career, I would take them.

Bullpen

Lee Smith
Bruce Sutter
Randy Myers
Mitch Williams
Rod Beck

Ok. Many others might make that same choice.

Why would you?
Defense is difference imo ...Brooks 16 Gold Gloves ,he had 1 MVP season and a World series MVP but Schmidt had 3 MVP's and also a WS MVP... He had better power numbers than Brooks but their career BA are exactly the same .268... So if you prefer Offense it's Schmidt ...
