Ronnie Lott, chopped finger. There’s good and bad to it all. Tonight was the good change. Hat tip to both coaches for making a stand and saying No for their players.
Back then the players would have wanted to play…. Neither thought process is right or wrong…. The changes in they way humans think/feel is pretty fascinating to me…. Watching world war 2 movies…. Couldn’t imagine many Americans alive today accomplishing what those men did.

We NEED more RBs! This is crazy that d Sampson could be the only scholly rb participating in spring ball.

Those saying people would look around if Lloyd or others visited are nuts.

Currently as I see it, we have a talent issue at CB. We have a depth issue at rb. We have a talent and depth issue at TE. Need to address all 3 before spring.
We have four scholarship RBs…. How many do we need?

Ryan Clark just talked on that. He tried to play after being hospitalized. Brought doctors in, brought his wife in to say he should play. Tomlin says No, because I wouldn’t let my son play. And Clark said it was a relief because their programmed to play, and they need a coach to say No for them.

I’ve Seen criticism of the announcers and NFL but they just had to deal with the situation in front of millions of viewers and thousands of people at the game. They had to deal with something no on expected. Then there is a whole chain of command, texts and phone calls going out trying to figure out what to do. They did what was needed and waiting a few extra minutes trying to figure it out didn’t hurt anything. It wasn’t too long ago Owen Hart dropped from the top of an arena onto the concrete, at a wrestling event, and the announcers basically said they were broken-hearted that he passed away. They carried him off and kept going.

Saw a sports physician hypothesize that it's a rare occurrence when you get blunt trauma to the chest at a very, very specific timing during the end of a heart beat cycle.
Just seemed like the hit wasn't even direct, crazy that it could cause a heart to stop. People bump into each other harder than that on the subway sometimes. Must have just been really horrible luck or some underlying condition? Such a violent game, but the one hit that stops someone's heart is super soft? Ironic and nuts.

@Weezer According to AP the staff is likely to take a DB from the portal. I believe it was Bent Hubbs who also commented that they have their eyes on some but keep looking for better.

Chuck Hughes' death on field 50 years ago was an NFL tragedy

"An autopsy was performed, and it said one of Hughes’ arteries was 75 percent clogged and that a blood clot had broken loose — presumably from the hit on his last catch — and became trapped in the artery, cutting off blood to the heart muscle. It also showed that he’d likely had another heart attack — earlier in the season, Hughes had been hospitalized for four days with what was diagnosed as a spleen injury. "

That doesn't sound encouraging. If they thought they had a chance to save him, I think they'd rush him to the hospital immediately and bring family in a separate vehicle as soon as they could.
As a mother, you’re damn right I’m going, even if I’m running behind the ambulance all the way. As to your logic, it stands to reason, the EMS thought there was time for her to escort her son to the hospital.

I'm not an MD but I don't think it's good that he isn't yet breathing on his own. I know that might sound like good news to a lot of people but all I hear is a very careful way of saying "he's on a ventilator."
The fact that he's on a ventilator obviously isn't a good sign, however it doesn't necessarily mean he is in a more severe condition.
