This is so f'n dumb...we don't play in a f'n vacuum.Tennessee went 11-2 this year with that becomes high expectations going forward. As it should be at a place at Tennessee. Tennessee isn’t Vanderbilt with academic restrictions and resource issues. 10+ wins a season would be reasonable with everyone pushing in the right direction to keep the ship afloat. You aren’t going to stay under the radar at Tennessee
I really enjoyed how our defense played against KY, Vanderbilt, Clemson and some others. Thought they did really well against AL, but BY was just able to extend plays for forever then make a great play except the last drive. But I wasn’t expecting the old school defense that shuts down teams completely because of what they said their strategy was. I’m too old and have too much going on to worry about what I can’t change. I used to write down every player that we were listed in their top 5 and worry about which ones we would get, where we would end up ranked, what teams we were playing were ranked, and anything else I could come up with. My worry didn’t do anything but keep me from enjoying the good things.I understand the strategy. Not sure I agree with it. It's a lot to ask freshmen to be that fix. And I'm not angry. Frustrated maybe, but not angry. Anyone who loves defense would be frustrated by ours. No different than how those who love good offense were frustrated by JG.
@utvols88 what he saidYou need to go back and check out what CJH said about defense when he was first hired. No verbatim but basically he just wants a defense that can stop splash plays and not give up sustained drives. Now do I want a defense that gives up 0 points and negative yards every play absolutely but it seems they have a plan. I think CTB didn't have the skill players he needed to be able to do exactly what he wanted. I think they feel like they are coming with this class and the growing pains that come with it is something we will need to accept in 2023 to get ready for the years to come.
He took a team that was down on talent as far as the SEC top tier goes and went 11-2 and wasn't expected to win maybe 8 games so anytime I see anything about fire this coach even if tounge and check I think it deserves to be mocked. We went through enough of that Bullsh*t in the past and I think we are damn lucky to have what we've got. If he needs to make a move on his staff let that be his decision and not have to listen to the whims of every wantabe football expert.
I think I've caught up now.
Since Enki liked this, tonight’s parlay was:
SGP - Houston win and the over (129.5) both
Purdue to win
Indiana to win
UCLA to win
Sweating Indiana right now.
I participating...I'm calling you out for bitching incessantly. You wanna bitch and piss and moan about it incessantly, go for it, I'm just gonna keep on telling you it's dumb.If an assistant is failing, firing is on the table. That's up to Heupel. But if a position group is performing poorly, fans are going to comment. If you don't like the conversation, you can choose not to participate. The problem is some don't want the conversation to happen at all.
And by your reasoning that we should just trust those in chargr, Mike Hamilton should still be AD with Dooley as our coach.
No one was calling for Heupel's head.
