Sorry, I didn’t really whiff. The composite has us at 9, which is 4th with current SEC teams. That shows that we are really competitive within the conference. If Heupel can beat Bama with what he inherited, then 4th in the conference is good enough to win a bunch of games, especially with a 5 star QB.

I actually agree with this post however the 2023/24 class will mostly compete in a league with TX and OK which was my original point anyone should easily understand. I just think that 10 win type regular seasons will be unlikely recruiting 6th in your 247 ranking or 7th in On3 unless we add in some SEC top 3. And championships even less so. No one has in this league for more than a decade. So, we can disagree which is fine.

You only have to add them after they actually join.

And if they actually win…they struggled in their current conference. Both were beaten by TCU. I’m predicting two mid pack SEC additions. I’m definitely not dreading them joining except for all the drama that texas brings.
I will truly enjoy every loss that the longhorns receive in the SEC. They will miss being a big dog pretty quickly. They won’t have the same impact or sway to change the SEC that they do now. Their biggest impact will be to open Texas up for other SEC teams.
Texas A&M joining showed the Texas athletes more options outside of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. It’s going to be worse for them once their recruits see them losing to other SEC teams on visits.

Yes, we can refuse to look ahead if it makes us feel better. Regardless the key classes will be 23 and 24 and to a lesser extent 22 when they join. And there is still talk they could join a year earlier.

"Many think Iamaleava could contend for starting snaps. Joe Milton is the leader for the job, but it's hard to justify keeping Iamaleava off the field. While he could act entitled, Iamaleava chose the humble path, saying he welcomes whatever chances he gets.

"It's been my goal since day one to go out there and compete with whoever's the guy. But I also look forward to learning from guys like Joe, Navy, Gaston, and the whole QB room. We have a great QB room, and my first three weeks there, it just felt good to be a part of. Nobody has an ego; everybody gets along well. Whether it's competing for the job, backing up Joe, or backing up whoever it is, I look forward to learning. It'll be freshman year, so I know there will be some adjustments to college, but I look forward to wherever that spot is."

Normally we would need better classes to compete at the highest level, but I think the style of play and coaching offsets that a little. Consider what Heupel did with a blue chip ratio in the 30% to 40% range. He was able to beat teams with more talent like LSU and Alabama. Alabama’s BCR is approaching 90%.

If we were running the same type of offense as UGA and Alabama then yes we would need higher ranked classes, but we aren’t going to out-talent them at this point. I think we’re going to be fine in this range as long as we have great QB play.

Tatted up arms and seeing an “old guy in a jaunty cap” got the young fella all tough.
He must’ve forgotten that he couldn’t take even one little punch. 🤔

I remember when tattoos indicated someone you didn’t want to mess with. Now all the social media lightweights have them. 😂
Glass jawed pansy wannabe thug..lol.
