Maggit + Vereen = qb pressure = mediocre/semi-solid D becomes solid D

If this happens consistently and they stay disciplined on run plays, our D will be good. Top 50% in SEC

A team like Auburn may still give us trouble due to secondary speed and where we have speed inexperience.

I think this is a key that a lot of people are overlooking. The past couple of years we haven't had an outside presence, our interior linemen had to be prepared to slide out to hopefully make a play. Then on the inside runs they were out of position . With Maggit & Vareen forcing runners inside, I believe we will see a big improvement in our interior line play.

Good lord! These guys look like they just walked off the set of "The Walking Dead". Lol. +1

Big wishes for our defense this year:

- blow up and stop WR screens. Please please please

- qb pressure. Please give me an average of at least 3 sacks per game.

- better matchups/talent/athletes with putting speed on speed i.e. Not seeing 45 running laterally across the field 5 feet behind a slot wr. And not seeing McNeil/toney/swafford running vertically 5 feet behind anyone.

Someone with more OL knowledge than me might be better able to answer this but of Thomas is dominating and Blair is struggling, would it be possible to swap them and put Thomas at LT?

Was hoping someone would answer this as well if they know.

If the tweet in the recruiting tweets thread is definitely from Hendrix, then it sounds like he might be set with his grades and be here next month. I asked Saulsberry at the O & W game when he would be ready to go, and he said he would be full go by the summer.

Awesome! I really appreciate the response!

No prob. Btw, Saulsberry certainly looks the part at DT. He straight up looked mean just signing autographs. Maybe he was just mad that he would be on the sidelines instead of competing.

I would feel the same way as him if I had to be on the sidelines instead of being on the field. I wish him nothing but the best for the upcoming yr!

Add:

Set the dang edge - turn the dang play back inside, dang it. Maybe have a strong safety that plays strong.

45 squaring up his shoulders and hips in the gap, then driving through the ball carrier. That instead of running to the side and grabbing them by their shoulders or neck.
