Does anyone else get tired of Volnation posters calling Volnation as a whole hypocritical because there are hundreds of posters giving wide and varied opinions?
It's especially frustrating when it's normally intelligent, well-reasoned posters doing it.
"Gee Volnation, only you would give opinion x when only a month ago you were giving opinion y." Come on, folks!

The difference is Charlie Strong has been doing this a long time. He knows what he's saying regardless of whether a fan base thinks a coach shouldn't say it. His reality is he knows what he has to work with in his system and if he doesn't feel that his team is physically and mentally not there yet he says it. Meanwhile, fans in Texas may think otherwise because obviously fans know more. Hell, we've got fans on here believing we're going 10-2. Oh wait, that really might happen. Disregard everything I just said, I'm a fan.I understand that coaches want to temper expectations, but it is never a good idea to place limitations on your team.
Dooley kept harping on how we weren't a good football team for two years, but by the time he thought the team was ready to compete in 2012, none of the players had any confidence in themselves.
I like Butch's approach of making sure the team knows that they're doing good, but they can still get better. The USC win is probably paying dividends when he speaks to the team. They have proof that they can beat the big dogs.

Good news guys. I got my first free gas card in the mail today. Officially $50 in gas closer to Knoxville for the USU game. Just a couple hundred more in gas cards and some restaurant gift cards to go and Ill be working with a free trip.
I not only get tired of that but I also get tired of the constant bashing of the entire fan base as delusional by fellow fans.
Joe Critchlow out of Tennessee has thrown some excellent balls. Has OK size. No offers yet.
