@Volquest_Paul: "When we got into some team situations we had too many balls on the ground." - @UTCoachJones. Also says they had trouble snapping the ball.

Surely to God it'll get better by the season but they've had all year to get better. No reason any major D1 football team should ever have trouble snapping the football.

Someone posted in the off topic thread that Directv will carry the SEC Network...does anyone have anything official on this? I need to boom of it's true.

Not true. Just (within past 30 minutes) got off the phone with them. "We are in negotiations. We never lose in negotiating. We fully expect to have it. Blah Blah Blah".

Told them. You have one week.

Quick note from Butch...

Butch says players have to earn the right to talk to the media and they haven't done that today."

Kind of an odd statement. You're telling us coach that not 1 kid out of 100 practiced like he should? Not a single 1? If that is actually the case, yikes.

Way to take things too literally. I'm sure some guys did fine but he's not gonna reward them & punish the rest of the team.

If the team as a whole practices bad, nobody gets to talk to the media. Pretty simple.

Robertson Moves To Offensive Line
Tennessee coach Butch Jones announced Monday that freshman Jashon Robertson has moved to offensive guard.

The 6-foot-3, 304-pound Robertson — a former three-star prospect from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tenn. — worked at defensive tackle for the first three days of preseason practice before making the switch to the offensive line Monday afternoon.

“Jashon Robertson, we’re trying (him) right now at offensive line, so we moved his position to offensive guard. He showed some things in practice that we liked, so we moved him to the offensive line,” Jones said.

“And I tell you what, Jashon is one of those individuals — love him to death. Always has a smile on his face, loves the opportunity. He’s tough. He’s extremely competitive, and he’s doing a great job for us.”

Robertson was ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 29 offensive guard and the No. 10 overall player from the state of Tennessee in the 2014 class.

Honest question: Would you expect that a greatly improved defensive backfield would force some balls to the ground? I would hope so...

Yes. And not only that there's an expectation that offense as a whole must step up. They had a good spring and the newcomers are here and now that they're competing against more elite defenders our guys on offense have to step it up across the board.
