Sounds like I've been married longer 'n a lot of you have been alive. 29 years to a lady who loves the Vols and roots as loudly as anyone out there.

Actually......December 1st would have been my 30th, but my wife passed away 7 years ago. This is my second wife. Won't say it will be my last though, as I'm pretty sure I saw a black and gold t-shirt tucked away in one of her drawers the other day. I'm giving myself a few days to calm down before I confront her with it though. For our sons sake I hope I missaw.

My wife's mom was actually a Lady Vol, we share information on forum discussions and the latest UT news. I may be able to take her to the hoop, but she can drop ten 3's on me in the blink of an eye.

My wife had never watched much football when we met 12 years ago. Fast forward to the present. Now she paces the whole house and screams at the TV during UT games. She cried after the Georgia game last year. She doesn't follow recruiting herself, but she'll get mad at me if she hears about a recruit that UT picked up that I'd forgotten to tell her about.

I'm so proud.

That is amazing. My wife and I have been married for 6 months on Friday. She is a die hard Ole Miss fan. I'm taking her to the Utah State game, which will be her first time to see Neyland on a game day. I also just bought her an orange shirt. She smiled when she saw it. This old marriage thing just might work out.

She's slowly warming up to them and I really grit my teeth and put on a good face when the Rebels are playing. That game this year is going to be tricky to say the least.

I'll say this, the pre and post-game festivities in Oxford is a great experience...the Grove *ahem* lives up to its reputation. Anything and everything in and around the Vaught-Hemingway, however, is how I imagine it is like at a large Texas High School football game...because that's what their stadium resembles, a nice [Texas] high school football stadium.

In other words, she has only a vague idea of what it's like to really experience SEC football.

Been outa town all week. Just got home, birthday tmw. Big 4-0. My family is in Indiana with her family for the week and guess what was on the counter when I walked in : colon : tickets to Ole Miss BOOOOM keeper!

And toilet paper and a frozen pizza :/ lol

She lasted about 3 years in oncology. It just got too hard. When her grandmother finally succumed to cancer the year after we were married, she couldn't take it anymore. There's only so much death someone can handle.

God love oncologists and oncology nurses though. There's a Oncologist, Dr. Eric Raefsky, that took care of her grandmother that completely changed my perspective of him. (I was a Pharm Tech for 5 years in a hospital). He was...not the most sociable person in the world, I'll say that but, when I saw his bedside manner in action with my wife's grandmother...that man had the heart of a saint.

Don't know if you heard he got killed in a car accident last night.

FYI...I talked to Directv today, and the representative did tell me that Directv will be offering the SEC Network. Got some more info too...it will be on channel 611, and it will be included in your package, if you have the Choice Xtra package and above. Thought I would let y'all know.

One other thing, looks like we will be on the 13th football talk thread by the time the season kicks off...great way to end our terrible streak of bad luck over the last 6-8 years. The rise continues in 25 days.

Man I'm so happy that my current girlfriend, whom is also the last one I hope to have, is a huge vol fan. I tell her all about recruiting and I also tell her about you bunch of goons! Whenever I open my phone around her she asks what is going on in VN!

Awesome DTV news thx. So glad I remained unrustled and stuck.

Are we gonna name it XIV?

Don't know if you heard he got killed in a car accident last night.

Wife just told me an hour ago.

She worked with him much more closely than I did and, give that he has so good with her (our) family during the time when her grandmother was passing away, she was understandably upset.

The world lost a good man.

My husband and I have a marriage of convenience. I had access to season tickets, and he had the money to buy them. :) Celebrating our 9th anniversary on Sept. 3rd. :dance2:

Do you have a sister? If so, post pics please.

My wife is upset. She was still under his care. I liked him when I met him as well.

Yes.

Freak, Mods....can you make it so? If engineers and architects feel it wise enough for buildings...I see no reason why we shouldn't follow suit.
Thirteen is our lucky number. Our first date was on the 13th and my youngest son was born on the 13th.

I have been married 9+ years. My wife used to enjoy the games and would even go on trips to away games with me.

Then the kids came along. Very quickly turned to three kids (now their ages are 4, 3, and 2). Ha. So her mind is in 1000 different places at once and she can't focus and get into the games anymore. And finds other things more important.

Now when she goes to the games it's more for the experience. She doesn't become crushed like I do when we lose. Or as ecstatic as I do when we win.

Sounds depressing but it's not.

Almost identical situation to my childhood. Went to first game at age 5...and by 7 or 8 I was sweeping floors, pulling weeds, and folding clothes just to go. Mom happily gave her spot to me and enjoyed it from home.

You're headed for some fun times when one of the kids catch on.
