Hearing from a really good source on the team that Worley is out for the year.

Kudos to him for giving his all, I think he can make a NFL roster.

If Justin Worley ever even goes as far as to make an NFL practice squad, Coach Bajakian should be terminated immediately.

Matt Simms made a roster, and Chaney is still an OC.

Very true.

I was obviously being a bit facetious with those remarks.

However, I would argue Matt Simms probably had better overall tools and physical abilities coming out of UT than Worley ever will. Worley has been a warrior this season and played tough behind UT's atrocious OL play and offensive woes. My comment wasn't intended to be a slight at Worley at all. As a UT fan, I'm proud of the toughness Worley has portrayed.

With that being said, Worley has shown terrible pocket presence & consistently has shown an inability to sense the pass rush or move out of the pocket. Worley also has made some very questionable throws and bad interceptions this season. Worley's bad decision making skills have hurt UT this season. More could/should be expected out of a veteran senior QB, IMO.

Again, my comment wasn't meant to be taken seriously or as degrading to Worley. I do applaud Worley's toughness and effort this season.

But in regards to having the skills or overall ability to play professional football in the NFL, I just don't see Worley making it. JMO.

Not to mention some players take far more time to develop than others. Personally, I think had Worley been under CBJ the whole time he'd have been way better than what we've seen -- the improvement he showed this year is enough to see that he can progress. And I firmly believe that Dooley didn't do a thing to develop either Worley or Peterman in his time here and put Worley two years behind the curve. Hell, he didn't develop Bray so why would he develop those two?

IOW, I won't be surprised if Worley catches on somewhere. He has the arm, the physical size, the work ethic, the toughness, and a lot of other things going for him. Much of what he lacks can be taught or developed. And unfortunately for him this line, too many hits, and his lack of mobility (which really hurt him due to this line), all made things far too difficult for him to show how improved he was for very long.

Worley isn't great right now but he does have potential and can still be developed. A practice squad or backup role wouldn't surprise me at all.

You could replace Worley with Simms in every critical sentence and it would still be true.

Simms made terrible decisions and took horrible sacks.

Mark "KY" Stoops has been "awarded with a raise and extension that will take him through the 2019 season and pay him an average salary of more than $3.6 million per year."

SMH at was passes through writers' and editors' ever watchful eyes these days.

Mark Stoops' extension worth more than $3M a year - ESPN

I guess KY is worried that success will lead to better teams to come a courtin their head coach.

Fair assessment. Mitch (the AD) knows even if Stoops get us to bowl games for a few years in a row that would be enough to attract attention. Trying to lock him up for a long time. Mark has said all the right things, and I'm still convinced he wouldn't leave for any job other than elite schools, but you never know.
