Sawyer a has played some this year I've seen him in games. Looks solid to me. His issue appears to be off the field stuff he needs to work on.

So far, he's seen time against Utah State, Arkansas State, and Chattanooga. He's had one tackle and one assist, both against Chattanooga.

Think of this like getting a shipment of apples. The apples that are considered "bad" or "unworthy" to be put on the shelf get processed out. In other words, they get thrown away.

IMO, I think this is a stunt by the staff to tell Sawyers "we are not going to put up with your attitude." This is a team, not a one person gun show. I'm sure they would love to have him, but if he is not going to be a team player (or decides himself that he wants to leave), then honestly it would be for the best if he is goes.

I'm not putting much into the Sawyers situation. He's a kid who came in with high expectations and thought he would be contributing right away. Since he was projected to play DT, the task of earning playing time as a freshman was going to be difficult. Barnett's transition was a bit easier because DE doesn't require the same size and strength. He should use Kendrick as an example of how hard work pays off in the end. Kendrick's technique needed to improve, and he has worked to improve. We saw the results against Bama. Sawyer just needs to do the same. However, when you are 18 years old and still maturing, it looks like the whole world is against you. Stribling will coach him up, and Sawyers will fix the attitude. He will get there. He's a talent.

Last week, Jacob Gilliam played 83 snaps with a torn ACL. He did not miss one snap on offense. CRAZY

There was an article on him I posted a few days ago - he said in it that other than initial pain of the injury he's been blessed with not having to deal with much pain from the injury. When he was first injured, he thought he'd just hyerextended it or tweaked it. Apparently most of his rehab process was muscle work and figuring out the stability he could get from his bum knee.

Pain or no, pushing your body and fighting against your own knee's instability to play 83 snaps at tackle against a Bama DL?! Wow.

Couple notes from the War Room per VQ...

-Michael Sawyers will not travel. He didn't practice midweek. And he needs to work on some things off the field to join the team in full capacity.

-Devrin Young and Joe Stocstill will not travel. Coleman Thomas will not be able to go this week. He isn't expected to travel. Chris Weatherd is a little banged up and there was some thought that he wouldn't travel. However, he's still expected to make the trip.

- Worley will not dress this week. He did attempt some left handed throws this week. He faces "an extreme uphill battle" to ever play again for the Vols this season.

- They had a long story in the War Room about how tight-knit Dobbs, North, and even Malone are. Dobbs and North are roommates. They go to church together and hang out together. Malone is with them a lot. They all 3 make good grades. Malone looks up to North for what he accomplished last year.

Left handed throws?

I figured out what you did wrong. You used the embed code. Next time, right click on the video itself and choose get video URL. Then highlight that and copy and paste it inbetween your youtube brackets.

You may be right uc. That sparked a thought. Are we still in the hunt for 2nd in the east (if we win out & finish 4-4)? I'm thinking we would be. That said, it looks like Mizzou is who we need some help with.

Ya'll weigh in on that and throw out some different scenarios.

To finish second we will have to win out. That will take care of head to head tie breakers with the remaining opponents.

I think this is what will have to happen.

FLA (2-3) has to lose 2 against uga, candy and usce. They beat us head to head so they would have to finish at least 3-5

Missou (3-1) has to lose 3 against uk, tamu, us and arky

UK if we beat them, they have at least 4 L in SEC we win head to head

USCe we beat them, they have 5 L in SEC

Candy (0-5) LOL

Hearing from a really good source on the team that Worley is out for the year.

Kudos to him for giving his all, I think he can make a NFL roster.

I'm with you there, it stinks for him. He battled bravely and gave us our lone positive memory at this point against a ranked foe.

The fact that he attempted left handed throws tells you all you need to know about the lack of faith they have in Peterman if Dobbs went down.

We are in very, very bad trouble if Dobbs goes down. We may not win another game this year with Peterman.

Question is, if that were to happen l, how many in the FF would still blame Butch for losing to missou and ky, despite Peterman being out there?

I think we would still beat vandy. Even if we had to switch out Hurd and AJ runnin the wildcat all game
