So you know that he had zero interest, talked to zero people about taking those jobs you mentioned and just sat back getting a hard on because "I'm so cool and popular, man. That's wild" all because he likes attention? Some of you can be so absurd with your statements.

If Frost trots out there, I wont be disappointed. Its not Gruden or bust for me. However, it is you better knock this out of the park or bust for me. There are at least a half dozen coaches who fit in that category, who are gettable.
This is where I am with it all. I don't understand the buzz kill attitudes on here, but to each their own. Most folks are quite capable of dealing with their Vol fan emotions without 'parents' talking them down from the ledge. Anybody that went through the Grumors in the past should know to be skeptical this time without counseling. It's a message board - have fun.
Trying to understand the minds of the major boosters at this stage is pointless. I have dealt with a handful of them in the past in business. The ones I dealt with do what they do and do not care or respect what you think. The only thing they respect from you is your financial support of what they want. He who has the gold rules. They want patted on the backs by their buds for making the program what they want it to be, which may be different than what many Vol fans prefer. Look at the Dools hire. They hired an unproven La Tech HC because his dad was SEC royalty and one of the boys. None of us would have made that hire.
Add in the 'swamp' factors at the university level and you have a lot to work through as an AD, who is the hired help.
My Op said I am not going to blame things on our athletic department if he doesn't come because in order to place blame you also have to place blame on countless other places for "killing the deal".
If Gruden isn't our coach or anyone else's it's all on him. Not anyone else's fault
This is what makes me wonder why everyone just defers to Haslam. We have other boosters at his level, at some point I imagine they won't be content with his apparent absolute veto power.
He said he thought it would happen. I thought it would happen, too, but that doesn't put me on the level with Hubbs as information goes.
As I have continued to say, these things are fluid. I mean I had it from some people I trust that Jones was going to be out Sunday if he had lost to Kentucky. Either those people were wrong or things changed.
Hubbs said this last night on VQ...
That's post-hoc. I don't know if he said before the game that Jones would definitely be gone, but I didn't see if he did. The point is he avoids speaking in certainties because there are none, whereas many supposed insiders throw things out like "done deal," "," and the like.
You can be a legit booster and still troll message boards by getting them ruled up about remote possibilities.
Atlanta is a proven commodity here. If he says it's legit, I believe him.
It really is something that certain people believe Gruden is a "done deal" but Butch is still the coach.
Those two things do not jive. If we had Gruden in pocket Butch would've been fired the second Gruden said yes and he would've already been announced and on the recruiting trail.
I dont think Gruden is hired by any means, or even will be, but will all his endorsements and ESPN gig, thats probably not true.It really is something that certain people believe Gruden is a "done deal" but Butch is still the coach.
