I agree, but it still gives me pause. I mean IF he really is the next great one (which I strongly suspect) Then you get a legend, a guy who gets roads named after him, and statues erected. But if he isn't, then we have to watch the UT program sink into the abyss...it is a tough call and I can see why a lot of guy want to go the safe "Meh" route...I just don't see the safe route having a much better ending than the riskier one at this point, and the riskier one could be The ONE.
Surprised there isn't a groundswell in Florida for Mike Gundy.
"Finally man a coach that looks like us!"
" Business up , party in the back . That's the way I live my life and I expect the next Gator coach to exemplify that. I know that is a big word I heard Darrell Waltrip say it at the Daytona 500. Looked it up."
"That's the kinda dude that shows up with a case of Natty Lite and don't mooch."
Paying a coach that hasn't coached in college for 30 years and NFL for 10 years 10 mil a year is stupid. Knowing that the first chance he has to bolt to the NFL he will.
I dont think we are getting him anyway, and if we did it may not be the best move for the university, but saying he will bolt for the NFL as the reasoning for it being a bad move is a ridiculous, lazy argument.
He has now, and has had in the past, plenty of opportunities to coach in the NFL.
