lol ok ziti. Hilarious to hear this coming from someone whos been all in on the Grumors lately.
Im still for giving Currie time and waiting to see how it plays out, FTR. Im just going on record and saying that Im not hopeful given his track record thus far.
But people aren't saying other names have joined Cherokee, bought the Haslams' house, hired Tee as HCIW or have had a signed contract for a week. A lot of claims are easily disproved-- if people cared to validate. And you're right-- Currie could face a backlash if the hire doesn't measure up.
Everything you have said up to this point indicates you think we are just starting the search tomorrow. Do you not think there is a chance we already have someone on the hook? If you don't, then it would be very obvious Currie is not taking this search as seriously as he claimed he would, and the question would be asked- what has he been doing up until this point?
I just can't believe we are "starting" tomorrow with Mullen...
Youre completely missing the point. You need to slow down and let yourself think about this dispassionately. This could have all been taken care of before the next coach takes over without dismissing him immediately. If Currie just pushes back the timeline on this dismissal a few days, he gets the benefit of the doubt from local and national media as well as some fans whod be likely to side with JJ anyway. Dismissing him within hours just perpetuates the narrative that our AD is systemically inadequate.
Of course, theoretically insert coaching candidate likely would have dismissed him immediately. But right now all we have is a bunch of coaches who (Robert Gillespie notwithstanding) will be coaching at Who Gives a S*** University next season.
