We seriously have no idea who our coach will be.
Gruden has not said no. His agent has not said we live in fantasy land. There are legit boosters like ATL who haven't taken away our hope.
There was a lot of noise about Mullen, but now we hear he isn't even talking until after the season.
Larry has been saying Peterson, but he says he hope it is and it's possible.
Patterson was thrown out there.
Lots of noise about Campbell one day and now nobody is talking.
Some people with AD connections think we are getting Frost.
There was noise about Norvell and others but now he is way down the list.
Youre completely missing the point. You need to slow down and let yourself think about this dispassionately. This could have all been taken care of before the next coach takes over without dismissing him immediately. If Currie just pushes back the timeline on this dismissal a few days, he gets the benefit of the doubt from local and national media as well as some fans whod be likely to side with JJ anyway. Dismissing him within hours just perpetuates the narrative that our AD is systemically inadequate.
Of course, theoretically insert coaching candidate likely would have dismissed him immediately. But right now all we have is a bunch of coaches who (Robert Gillespie notwithstanding) will be coaching at Who Gives a S*** University next season.
There's nothing remotely provable about Gruden. People either suspend disbelief and accept outright lies from anonymous sources or they look for the logic and seek to validate claims.
I dont believe I ever said he respects the coaches. I said he loved Azzani, but he isnt here anymore. He hated butch, thats fairly well known and given butchs background in handling players its safe to say butch mishandled another one.
There have been numerous Grumors that are believable, but yall wont pay attention and listen to them.

I've heard all of these people not only say that there is 0% that Gruden comes to Tennessee, but have laughed at the thought of it.
Ive been all about taking the wait and see approach with Currrie and giving him the benefit of the doubt until he proves us wrong.
But he hasnt done anything in regards to the football program so far to inspire faith. Given what weve seen from him so far, Im expecting to see a Norvell/Bobo type hire somewhere around December 5-10. Will gladly eat crow if Im wrong, but hes not projecting competence at this point.
But if any coach anywhere would make the same decision on a given situation, then it doesn't matter who makes the decision and what the timing is. I think it perpetuates the idea that the AD hasn't completely gone off the rails, that they can still make a simple, common sense decision that any other AD would make without floundering around and hesitating.

So which is it, do we already have someone (see Frost is one that has been said, Peterson has been said, and of course some still think Gruden), or is Currie really just starting the search tomorrow with Mullen?
