Agreed. Both are great talent developers and would recruit just fine. No concerns with either in that aspect.

Curious how you can be concerned about Mullen’s recruiting and not Petersen. I would imagine it’s a little easier to recruit to Seattle than Starkville as well.

Washington can probably offer a little more bag money than Mississippi State too.

Correct. Not discrediting Petersen and what he can do. Mullen also plays in a tougher division and Washington is a far, far superior program to Mississippi State.

There’s been so many egos and bullsh** between our staff members dating back to Dooley. Idc about assistants resumes anymore. I want a staff that is comfortable with each other and works together.

You could speak to this better than I could but it seems a lot of the problem with this year's staff is that you had like 4 guys who wanted to be head coach.

The best thing about Fulmer's staffs were that Cutcliffe and Chavis were great coaches that didn't try to overstep. And Fulmer was very good at allowing them to do their own thing and treating them like adults. Butch could never understand that.

I can agree with that. It also depends on what type of staff he brings in, an elite recruiting staff and 10/5 is very likely imo.

But let's be honest, what coaches would win championships playing Bama twice a year? Very, very few

I'd say it's probably more like 6-6, 10-2, 9-3, 9-3, 10-2. I feel I'm being conservative on the ceiling but pretty fair on the floor.

Mullen has never accomplished anything compared to Petersens two BCS wins...at freaking Boise state
