So, who do you all think makes the CFB playoff?

I think it is going to be Georgia, Bama, Clemson and Oklahoma.

I think Urban finds some way to beat Wisconsin, but a one loss Bama team gets in over a 2 loss OSU team.

I am pulling hard for Wisconsin to keep Bama out. I do think UGA gets smoked again, they still aren't going to be able to run the ball against AU and Chaney isn't creative.

I would definitely agree to keeping Bama out, and it very well could happen, especially with Barrett's injury. I just think it's tough to beat a good team twice in the same season and Georgia is a good team.

Campbell had a 3-4 record vs the top 25 at Toledo. He beat a ranked Arkansas the same year they came in and beat us a few years back.

His last year at Toledo they were 9th in total offense.

I admittedly don't know about his recruiting, but the guy can flat out coach

judging by the comments made by the players last night, it appears they didn't buy in and now realize the error in that. No matter how good of a system or how bad, not buying in is bound to result in this year's performance.

in b4 blah blah coaches job to Conover the players blah blah.

I really don't know how to fully judge this staff. mistakes were made all around.

When you keep selling the players a pile steaming crap telling them how great it is, it will eventually get old. When will it get old to the fans? The fan's tolerance level seems to be quite a bit higher.

If your so desperate that Schiano is a possibility then why the heck are you not talking to les Miles who would accept the job today? That would just blow my mind. I'll take les all day over that asshat

Doug Matthews on a rant right now

Can't say I agree with him now. He's basically saying Fulmer should be AD from what I can gather. I just don't think there are enough Tennessee people out there to make the AD full of orange blooded folks. He's talking out of Both sides of his mouth when he says Doug Dickey was a Tennessee guy.

Yeah, there really isn't any way to know till he is in a bigger job, but I did find that he had 12 players that played or are still playing in the NFL from his time at Toledo. Three were drafted, the rest undrafted, but that is pretty good I guess for a MAC school.

Kareem hunt being the biggest name

I just turned it on and missed any of that talk, but he’s being complimentary of Currie so far. Saying he hopes he will bring Tennessee football people for the interview process to avoid what’s happened with the last 3 coaches. He was railing on the apparent black balling of former coaches and players from being on staff the last few years.

That's really good

From Tennessee Truth:

I reached out to ESPN reps on Saturday night (as I often have this season) to confirm that Gruden was in Baltimore preparing for the Monday Night Football matchup between the Ravens and Texans.

Typically I receive a confirmation that Gruden has attended production meetings, or was at the host team’s practice.

I did not receive that confirmation this week. Instead, I was told “Based on schedule, our crew arrived in Baltimore yesterday and attended Ravens practice”.

Perhaps that means nothing and was just the answer they felt like giving me. But it is odd that Gruden wasn’t specially addressed. At this point, I think Mullen is Tennessee’s guy, but I do think there’s at least a small chance that Gruden ends up being announced.

Dickey pulled a move that - if done today - would make him as hated as Kiffin.

Edit: not to mention what would happen if Dickey tried selling out our bball program like he did..

Listen I want the big splash hire of Petersen or Gruden and if we can’t get them give me the young up and comer from a power 5 school..

Petersen
Franklin
Gruden
Mullen
Campbell
Taggert
Kiffin

I will jump on board with any of them

Now if you trot out Greg Schiano then Currie and Schiano will get fired ASAP.

I honestly believe (at least hope strongly) that Schiano is just included to make any other hire feel like a homerun.
Make him appear to be the leading candidate and if you announce
"Dan- never connected to a pervert- Mullen", even the Mehlens feel like we somehow won.

My gawd I have become so cynical.

He will always be complimentary of Fulmer as he disagreed with his termination. His connections are limited to former Vols.

I am embarrassed and over it all this morning. This is the worst team and coaching staff in the history of Vol football and UT admin did not care until they were forced to do something as a last resort - just like it was with Dools. If Currie does not announce a home run hire I am out. Nobody will much care, especially UT. They think they can trot out any coach and there will great support from our overly loyal fan base. They are probably right. But I'm not one of them anymore.

The clock is ticking. Podium.
