Agree. Timing is huge in making the right hire. And vision. By all accounts we could have had Patterson in 2008 but we picked kiffin because he was more exciting.

This go I am worried we had this all figured out (excitement again) around the Missouri game but now there are more jobs open than we planned. We are competing with other SEC and non-SEC jobs and now our plan may have fallen apart.

6 million per year gets a hell of a coach

Then add his buyout in 4 years when you fire him of 3 mil/yr at 4 years for a 12 mil more. Thats a total of 9 mil/yr.

The deal isn’t done until it’s signed and even then there are ways out if someone changes their mind.

Even if any of these guys isn’t our top choice their decisions could effect who we end up with. Dominoes are falling. Hopefully ours falls quickly.

Campbell had a 3-4 record vs the top 25 at Toledo. He beat a ranked Arkansas the same year they came in and beat us a few years back.

His last year at Toledo they were 9th in total offense.
