From when we hired Currie back at the end of February. All proven to be true.

I have not seen anything credible that confirms we met with Dan Mullen or offered him the job.

Pretty clear that Schiano was always the guy and once Mullen was off the board he thought he could run up there and hammer it through to give the impression we got our #2.

Meeting with Mullen is irrelevant. You don't go meet with an established coach to interview him unless you have a verbal deal in place. Meeting or not proves nothing about our interest.

Just read some of Beaver’s tweets. I think he is someone in the know, but the info he laid out in the Gruden thread many weeks ago wasn’t about an agenda to hire Gruden. I think it was an agenda to overthrow the power of the Haslams. The plan was to hype Gruden and make everyone think he was a lock to coach, but he and whoever is involved knew Haslam would torpedo it just like in 2012. When Haslam torpedoed it by going behind everyone’s backs to make his own hire, then Volnation’s voice started to be heard, and the backlash became too much. This fully exposed the Haslams. Why would he all of a sudden make his twitter public, when he knows he may be lashed out at because of the Gruden stuff? He wants to be heard more and more, and he has media members now following him to get his message out farther abroad. He is striking while the iron is hot and putting on more steam to try to take down the Haslams. Go read his tweets in the last 24 hours. I hope this is what’s happening, because it’s our only chance to rid this university of the Haslams.

Dude let it go. He wasn’t right about anything, and the predictable backtracking and blaming Haslam is old too. He isn’t going to help do anything or reveal anything of value. Entertainment purposes maybe.... but you guys are beyond hopeful to believe he isn’t a troll

It’s fake. Doesn’t have the blue verified check on that account.

Yes, Facebook does that too. Look up Rand Paul, Herman Cain or anyone else

It is a page with 50,000 followers and 247, nj.com, and a lot of other places includiing ESPN cited it was her. And a blue check mark is telling you it's not her?

Okay, bud

Yup. If you offer Mullen (even verbally) over the phone Friday. I’m 99% sure he’s our coach.

Me either, other than Hank saying we did.

Can’t help that they did some bad reporting.

It’s not verified.

How do you know it’s real? Because it has 50k followers?

Islam has half a billion followers. Does that make it real?

Les is someone I wouldn't have considered a week ago, but he could work because he would be willing to do a creative, shorter-term contract (maybe 1+ option for 2) with little-to-no buyout. He wouldn't demand big bucks that UTAD isn't willing to pay.

The best value and quickest rebuild is going to come from someone who has solid experience but isn't in great demand and has something to prove.

Top players will not come for a coach that won’t be here their entire career. Would absolutely be used against you on the recruiting trail and would work.

You know as well as I know that a formal offer never comes unless an informal offer is accepted. That's why all these ADs say we got the only guy we offered.

Lol. We read thru that bs every time and it always surfaces.

Did we offer Mullen? I say no.

If I’m Currie, i think you make an insanley lucrative offer to say Chris Peterson so even if he publically turns you down... other coaches will be like “damn TN isn’t playing around now. 8-10mil a year??”

Yep. I believe it was Schiano from day one. I hate Currie and the Haslams for it. Almost to the point that I can no longer support UT. I’m giving them one last chance to get this right before I’m done. Not that UT will miss my support by any means but I’m just over it. It makes me sick to think of all the possible coaches that could’ve been hired and done well to great. Kelly, Gruden (dream I know but I don’t believe he ever had the offer to turn down), Patterson, Petersen, Frost, Mullen, Sumlin, Norvell, Fuente. The list goes on and on even to guys we crapped on because we were lied to and told the hire would be “expensive, exciting and explosive”. Yet they chose to go after Schiano like every team in college football had him as their #1 candidate. Get it wrong this time and I’m out.

I got wind that we offere him. In some capacity. And then i also saw a report where he was close to taking her job until Florida called. That’s the best we got.

Either way, water under the bridge now and a huge missed opportunity by UT Admin!
We're gonna end up with a 3rd rate HC or Tee, and UF trots out a guy with 9 years SEC HC experience. Sickening.
