Let’s ride. Recruiting will be incredible.

I just don't understand this. If you are going to hire someone who makes questionable decisions (like Butch did), why not go ahead and hire the assistant coach (Tee or Venables)? At least you have the expectation that he will learn, and begin to make better decisions as time goes on.

I don't do Twitter but social media needs to expose the Haslam-UT mafia. The casual fan doesn't know how corrupt the administration is over there.

It’s amazing that things reached defcon 1 and there’s still no urgency or planning. Baffling the arrogance of Currie. Incredible the grip Haslam has.

I'm hoping the delay is the result of the other boosters trying to take some control in the AD. Probably just incompetence, though.

We are gonna get stood up by Chad Morris aren’t we?

Yes, we will end up with Les Miles IMO.

He/Agent is putting it out now that he will bring in a big staff with SEC experiance per Brian Rice.

Edit- To add another note, he said he thinks UT will try and write a big check to Brohm but questions if Brohm will take it.

When Currie was asked about Gruden in that presser he had the perfect opportunity to say, "I have a lot of respect for Jon Gruden and realize that many of our fans have dreamed of him someday being our coach. I have reached out to his agent to gauge Jon's interest. I was told that Jon is not interested in coaching college football, and he is not a candidate for the position of head coach at TN."

So much drama could have been avoided, but Currie insisted on complete radio silence, and in that information void the trolling and conspiracy theories got completely out of hand. There is going to be a narrative. You can guide the narrative by sharing information strategically, or you can do what Currie did and let anonymous people on social media create it from some convoluted combination of fantasies and ill intent.

Was Fulmer the last coach we hired with zero head coaching experience?

Everyone after him had been a HC before.

Screw it - go the coordinator route and take a risk.

We are at the bottom.

Doesn’t really matter if you screw it up.

I think Haslam/Currie will intentionally sabotage this hire to stick it in the face of Vol fans. They fully intend to give us the double barreled Gaulden.

Maybe they're attempting to divert Tennesseans from their rebate scandal? None of it makes any sense...

Yep. People like AV need to get that narrative going on the message boards. Charlie Anderson, Ergen, Thorton, et al need to get the stories out in the press.

Shine somd light on it, and see if TN residents and alums like that Haslam is controlling every dollar that goes through the University.

Do the Haslams enjoy failing at all things football and looking clueless? Is there any other explanation?

Arrogant, stupid, and rich is no way to go through life.

Or maybe it is.

Anyway, that's the explanation for these horrible hires.

So my sole focus will be in securing Greg effing Schiano to be the next coach of our beloved volunteers.

Guys, we are the worst team in the SEC. we don't get to be too picky with a coach at this point m. Hire the best coordinator we can get.

It’s clear with their criminal case, they’ve got no problem biting the hand that ultimately feeds them.
