I will watch on tv from my couch. I still love the vols. But I'm not going to knoxville til team Haslam dictatorship is over. May not live that long.

Yes. I am as frustrated as anybody, but I just don’t get how people don’t see that flooding Twitter with tweets about how Doeren is hot garbage and wanting to watch the program burn to the ground help anything.
Sometimes you have to destroy something to rebuild it. Our program is infected to its core. Would you rather see the program continue to struggle for another decade?

Enough is enough. It’s time to fight to get our program back to being the way we want it.

This problem looks so easy to solve, rid the AD of the Haslam problem and well now the Currie problem, and get back to coaching and playing football, that is the solution, now how do you accomplish the solution ?

We need people with more power than the Haslams to step up. We need state representatives we need the local and national media, we need other boosters and former players, we need their name drug through the mud repeatedly until the say I quit.

That's true. But sending a message to UT admin and making UT an absolutely miserable place for players to be are two different things. These kids have to get behind the new coach if we want to continue to field a team.

I agree with the idea of venomous type actions.

It'd also be pretty miserable to show up to 60 or 70k for your home games as well. There's a level of miserable you are not gonna be able to avoid. Especially after this week.

How does sitting by and supporting it help?

I’d rather the team succeed in spite of this administration than fail just so fans can “stick it to the man.” If Doeren comes here, his success will turn on whether players and recruits respect him, not on whether Jimmy Haslam is a moron.

Prediction time:

Doeren is going to look like Hugh Freeze right out of the gate and land a bunch of guys on the recruiting trail that he has no business landing. Haslams know that this hire is going to be incredibly poorly received, and they don't want empty stadiums, dwindling donations, and reduced season ticket sales. So what better way to drum up interest in the program again than following the Butch Jones model? And that will happen via recruiting resources that most other coaches simply don't have. Bama/Ole Miss-level cheating here.

No results on the field is okay for a few years if you're stacking classes with 4* and 5* recruits. Fans will jump back onboard quickly when we start booming over those guys. Then, once it's clear he's not going to get it done, yank the bag men/recruiting perks and resources and let the guy fall flat on his face.

Rinse, repeat.

And eff the national media saying this place it toxic. It’s that way because the past 10 years have been failure after failure and the fans are tired to being screwed over time and time again while they ask for more money and season ticket renewal. One, just one proven hire and it’s totally different. Butch wasn’t proven at a high lever and always rode on Brian Kelly’s coattail and Dooley has a freaking losing record at La Tech. Change either one of those and this is different.

What I don’t get, is if you’re Jim Haslam you’ve got to know that you’re the most despised man in Knoxville. Nationwide media outlets are blaming you as the one behind the scenes responsible for this mess. Plus, your company is going through litigation for mail fraud and to ice the cake, your NFL franchise is arguably the worst team in history.
Even if I had $10 Billion, I’d say screw this chit I’m out.
You are hated by Vol fans everywhere so why keep up the dog n pony show? Why show your face in K-town ever again? Does the guy have zero self respect or pride at all?
Me personally, you’d never hear from me again.

This is why I think the Haslams are getting some kind of kickback or have power that they shouldn't. There us something keeping them around that would expose them if they lost it

This negative sentiment has been out there since the end of the Fulmer years. Back then it may have been insanity. But after 10 years of bad hires and a complete fiasco of athletic department mismanagement, it actually seems jusotofied now.
And in any event, no amount of arguing will stop it. The beast has been unleashed.

Don’t pay attention to the national media. Eyes on the prize. #TakeBackTheHill

We need to chip in for some billboards around Knoxville. Needs to have a picture of Jimmy Haslam stringing a noose around the Power T. Maybe some clever slogan above that. Need to raise awareness to people just what the Haslams have done to the flagship over the last decade.

And Skeeter confirmed on twitter that Peyton is against our two favorite hires. He is more concerned with politics and money than us.

You know, Ive been rolling thks Peyton thing around here.

Does anybody think Peyton is suddenly on the Haslems side so that brother Bill can help him get his foot in the door politically?

Doeren ain’t landing 4-5 star recruits.

I don’t understand how they fail to see that winning brings more money and losing. Or how spending more on a coach up front beats paying a buyout and then hiring a new coach all over again. They’ve made billions but I have no idea how, they run a horrible business model. I hope the FBI investigation bankrupts them.

I’ve convinced myself Kiffin would kill it here if we hired him.

Him being who he is fits the current situation here better than anyone else, and a lot of people see it as a flaw.

He's a good football coach regardless of how people perceive him personally and I think he would run the program differently this time around IMO.

At this point I don't see where he even gets a chance to show that tho.

Yep, only explanation. And it’s heart breaking.

Butch Jones did and he's a flat-top sporting cliche machine. Doeren has also put more guys in the NFL than Butch had. If he's cheating and has playing time to offer, he'll land them.

I think Brohm is a good coach and a better option than everyone we have allegedly offered to this point. Less Gundy.

The only hire I think they could make at this point that could not only handle himself in this league and the racket around this program right now is Kiffin.

To say I'd be pumped up if we hired Brohm would be an understatement. I was elated for about 10 minutes this morning when Jimmy broke that story. When it came crashing down, I was infuriated to say the least. So disappointed in how this has played out. Therefore, I'm done throwing money at this AD until things at the top are changed.

What you said minus the recruiting

One thing I completely disagree with you on. Which is rare.

There were trolls, and lies spread. On that I agree.

You still good people tho.

You're too smart to believe Gruden was ever on the hook. Gruden doesn't want to coach college. He would have to give up his very lucrative endorsements, in addition to his paid speaking engagements ($100K per), QB camps and announcing. It would be a financial hit and he's just not interested in making less money and sitting in living rooms smalltalking the parents of teenagers. I wish he'd come out and say it, but all the attention is very good for his personal brand.

I think recruiting is mediocre and we muddle through some 7-5 type seasons and then the wheels come off and we lose 8 or 9 games and then he’s fired. Dan Mehlen will completely drill us a time or two, and we won’t come within three touchdowns of Bama at any point.

If the team fails it is not our fault as fans. It is on the people that are the decision makers. So far "the man is using this Fan base and even Mr Currie as a human shield.

I think the problem is: for a century we were the school that pretty much had the support of a whole state and one of the richer states in the conference to boot. We had a natural advantage in that Vandy didn't take any attention or split loyalties. Our administration didn't have to be savy. Then the last decade the TV money has made Mississippi State a legitimate football school. We have to try but no one knows how to. We have a history, yes, but it is both a legacy but also a weight.
