I agree. But also, what about the officials during the game? As much as they are handling it how did they not tell there was a difference?

I can't remember if it was Pereria(or however you spell his name), or some other networks referee analyst, but he said refs never really grip the ball so it would be easy to escape their notice.

I'm not sold on DeBord, but I also don't believe in promoting a guy you don't feel is ready. Shades of Trooper Taylor.

Is Azzani expected to leave per insiders other than this Durango person? Stressing here!! Right before signing day! Ahhhha!! So Jancek is staying now? Can't keep up with all of these moving parts!!

I also heard a retired official say that the refs are trying to spot the ball and move quickly for the next play. So, their focus is not on the actual ball. Makes sense. That is why they check them before the game so that they aren't preoccupied with it.

lulz, this is nothing. You should have been around when Kiffin left. Now that was an epic meltdown.

Neither did Butch. Neither did the short guy we've got coaching basketball. Neither did Jancek, Stripling, Elder, or Martinez. The last coaches I remember "moving the needle" we're Sal and Kiffin.

My needle is moved by the fact that we won a bowl game this year. By the fact that we've got a handful of 5 stars and a top 10 recruiting class coming in. By the fact that Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina look to be a little bit down. If this hire can keep us on the trajectory that we're on, then my needle doesn't need to go anywhere.

I can understand people feeling that way, I just think It's a stupid, fan-made criteria for people who don't know any more than I do about the process for evaluating and hiring coaches. Whether it "moves the needle" has 0 to do with whether it's the right hire.

Regardless, this place is quickly becoming unreadable. It's sad because the last few weeks were really nice.

I've read a lot of garbage on here since Bajakian left UT. This post, however, is on point. I want to quote it, so everyone can have a chance to read it again.

For some reason (probably based on the fact that I've been on VN during some awful times for UT football), I have a feeling a lot of people on here looked up Mike DeBord on Google, clicked on his Wikipedia page, and saw his record as a head coach. Afterwards, they came on here and freaked out.

I am waiting for someone to point out legitimate negatives about this potential hire. The two I see are recruiting ability/ties and the fact that it does not address the staff's need for a QB coach.

When kiffin left, the VN servers kept crashing because they couldn't handle the traffic. I think it was right after that when Freak made upgrades.

Hmmm. Not sure on that.

Also, it seems like the years that our OL was a problem under Fulmer were the years that he decided he was going to get "more involved." Honestly, after Doug Marrone left, it seems we had a period of time where our OL was more ineffective than their talent level would suggest. Especially the Jimmy Ray Stephens years.

I was talking about recruiting. No way I'm stepping into any other Fulmer argument. :)
