With all due respect to EazyTD, our coaching searches have had notorious mis-information floated in the past.

Still in wait and see mode

This is exactly what I have been thinking while reading this thread. Eazy is a good poster but coaching searches are hard to read because things can be hidden. More so with signing day around the corner if you are going to hire a college guy.

There are only two people who need to know what is going on, Hart and Jones. They can intentionally "leak" whatever they want to cover up what is going on.

I can NEVER recall the first guy mentioned, in any search, being the guy.

I'm calling BS on the DeBord thing. It's smoke, and it will be someone from out of left field.

My stats... check dem.

I hope you're right Nick. But your stats suck.

I can tell that you think I'm just BS'ing everyone and I wish I were. This is from the same person that said Henderson was leaving (Hubbs denied at first), Hendrix, Helm and Scott were leaving, Payne was leaving and that Dobbs' redshirt would be pulled when Worley went down.

I'm hoping and praying it was bad info.

To play devil's advocate here, perhaps your source has good contact with the people surrounding the players, but much less solid contact with the administration? That would be entirely plausible, as gaining access to someone who could have contact with 105 players or dozens of lower level admin would be much easier than someone who would have insight into upper level staff negotiations, that might only involve the AD and the HC.

Did this source know about Bajakian leaving before you heard it elsewhere, or Cuonzo leaving, or other previous staff turnover (even then, knowing someone is cleaning out there office doesn't take priority clearance)? Does this source have a credible track record of knowing about staff details, ie what was he telling you during the Jones contract negotiation when people here were in a panic about all of that?

Seriously though, no one has responded. If it's DeBoring, who will coach QBs?

And people need to go back and watch Carr's offense his last couple years before the whole "no reason to panic, trust Butch" stuff. I remember loving those years watching Michigan squander insane talent with terrible offensive scheme. The game passed him by even back then. And if Butch is from rich rod's scheme, and rich rod was radically different from Carr's system, how will DeBoring fit rich rod/Butch's system?

The only way DeBord makes sense is if Butch is shaking up more of the offensive staff. You have to have a QB coach, which Debord is not, to develop Dormady, Jones, and Jennings, not to mention still working with Dobbs on his passing game. Do you really put that kind of trust in a GA? Does not make sense imo. If DeBord is indeed the hire, Mahoney seems to be the odd man out. Even if Coach Z leaves, neither DeBord nor Mahoney are WR coaches.

The reason we have no cash is because of the failures of the cheap hires And outrageous buyouts. Again, I wonder how Bama can pay Saban? How can OSU afford to pay Meyer?

So your contention is the entire treasury was squandered basically in the Fulmer through Dooley fiasco...even though you contend they've been cheap since the beginning of time?

How can Bama and OSU afford their hires? Multiple reasons I doubt you're willing to listen to. But I'd contend the main reason is because their administrations entered the 21st century well before UT did.

Someone mentioned us possibly contacting UTC's OC earlier. If that's the case, and DeBord's really been hired as the OC, then maybe Butch is looking at him as the QB coach. I say Butch tries to keep Coach Z if he can, but it seems Mahoney would have to be on his way out the door(which given our line play last year wouldn't hurt my feelings).

He's never coached QB. OL is the only position I can see him taking over, of he's just going to be a position coach.

And for those who kept insisiting opposition to DeBord was about his age, it had nothing to do with his age. Take away the fact he's been out of coaching for a year, go ahead and throw out he hasn't served as an OC in several years, and you'll finally get to the crux of the arguement. His position coaching resume screams "If I get the job the offensive staff is looking at even more major shake ups less than two weeks til NSD!" I don't really fear any of our D commits being influenced by this, but how will our O commits react? How well liked was Mahoney by our commits, and by the kids we're still chasing? Allen talked about going to the movies with him. Said he had a good relationship with him. Did we just close the door on one of our LT possibilities?

And no, this is not a freak out. Chips are gonna fall where they will. But there's more to the hire than some are giving credit to. It wasn't long ago we were enjoying the instability of UGA's offense, now were this close to NSD and our own offensive staff is facing the same kind of instability. I'm not gonna panic, but let's see reality for what it is.

DeBord just does not make a lot of sense.
