He definitely has athletic ability, but I believe it's too early to say if he has SEC level QB ability. All his passes were behind or worm burners, he didn't really show much. I believe the sooner he makes a position change the better it is for him if he wants to ever start/ make it to the league.

If it is too early to say if he is an sec QB, how is it not too early to decide if he is an sec level safety or wide receiver? Positions he hasn't even played in a few years. He is a quarterback. Whether he will be one at UT is a different discussion. But his position in college will be quarterback.

Guys...

My baby girl is struggling today. She's had issues with her breathing since yesterday, which is caused from her heart failure.

I'm breaking into pieces.

They're working on her again.

Please pray for her.

Prayers sent. Hang in there buddy.

Will do.
Try to stay strong OB, we're all with the baby and your family.

They had to place the breathing tube back in my baby girl. Sorry for the freak out, I just reached my limit. God is in control and I will praise Him, good and bad.

They said she's doing better now that the breathing tube in. There's just only so many times I can see one of my girls near death and not completely break down...which I did.

It's not too early to say he could be a safety or WR, because of his athletic ability. Which actually was highlighted during the game unlike his QB ability. I actually felt bad for him during the QB skill drill they ran.

Sorry to hear this. Hang tough. Prayers for you and your family.

I think there is a misconception that quarterback is the only position that requires skill in addition to athleticism. There is a ton of skill involved in WR beyond pure athleticism. And we have not seen a shred of evidence that he possesses the required skills to play those other positions. Jennings highlight of his athleticism came with him at the QB position. He had as many touchdowns as a QB as QD and JD.

All the critiques being thrown around about him are almost identical to what was said about Dobbs coming in as a freshman. Only difference is that Dobbs didn't get to play in a UT spring game as a highschool senior. If he did, it would have likely been a mirror image of what we saw from Jennings.

I know it has to play out, but where was it said that Von will never play again? Or is it just speculation? Thanks...

Dobbs was more advanced as a passer than Jennings coming out of HS. Jenning can throw it farther than Dobbs could as a freshman but that is because he showed up stronger than Dobbs. Dobbs issues as a passer were strength related and footwork.

I'm torn on JJ after spring. I think he can be a dangerous weapon as a runner but he has a long long way to go as a passer in game setting. I'm not sure with the way we recruit and how far behind he is that it's in his best interest to keep fighting the QB battle. Dormady looks like a natural star. Jones was this staffs top QB target before he committed to Fla then landed in our laps late. So they obviously see a ton of potential in him. Then you have JG coming in next year who looks like a flat out STUD. Then possibly the top QB in 2017 in Johnson after that. That's is a heck of a battle for any kid let alone one playing catchup from a passing level.

If he were to move to WR this summer, he could really have a chance to get some serious playing time as a true freshman. I think he could be what people want Malone to be. He would be tough and competitive after the ball in the air. He would need a lot of work with routes but with the current depth at that position its wide open for him. He has the mentality that Z would love at that position

We continue to pray for Ashlee. You are in our daily thoughts and prayers.

OAN: many of our spouses think we are idiots for being on this board, but situations like OB's is the beauty of this board. We all come together, even rival fans, for the greater good in difficult times. :hi: :salute: to all the posters on this board, and to Freak for making it happen.

Absolutely. I'm able to say things on here that I just can't say to my family at this time.

Thank you. Sincerely.

Can only try to imagine the fear, anxiety, and frustration you're going through OB. Love and prayers to you and yours.

No...

Dobbs wasn't even listed as a DT QB or athlete like Jennings was... He was always thought of as a pocket passer that could extend plays with his feet some..

And what about the guy? A drunken girl asks a drunken guy to have sex? Both of them aren't under their normal function, but alcohol only protects the female?

Laws can't only run one way, so I'm saying either you made that law up or our country is even more screwed up then I ever thought.

Sure guys can make the same claim, but it's almost always going to go the female's way.

I'd call it speculation based on precedent. He could be back in fairly short order if the woman decides not to press charges, but that's a huge if. If she does press charges, then he's played his last down at Tennessee just based on the time it will take for the suit to resolve. AJ Johnson is, unfortunately, the test case in this instance.

Switching gears to Jennings: how much WR did he play in high school? He does look like a threat with the ball in his hands, but I have no idea if he hands are good or if he has the footwork necessary to get the route running down. I always thought safety was considered his backup if QB doesn't work out.

Lastly: Best wishes to you and your family, OB. I know it's difficult, but be strong. Your family needs you. Keep coming here when you need a place to vent.

This is from a workshop/lecture/whatever you want to call it I went to last week.

They reiterated several times:

- If alcohol is involved, you're pretty much done for.
- You must gain VERBAL consent.

That is just what I heard.

I'd rather not get into this discussion, for the sake of everyone reading this thread.

Yea, this doesn't sound like "Law".

Sounds like more of a warning to be careful and know the consequences if alcohol is involved.

There's no way an individual with a "drop" in their system is somehow unable to give consent.
