Dobbs needs a 2,500 yards passing season. He'll get 500+ on the ground provided he stays healthy. If he can throw for around 200 per game, the offense will be deadly.
Butch needs to win 3 of the following 5 to prove that the team has taken a big step: OU, UGA, UF, Arkansas, Mizzou.
2 out of 5 would be fine but not enough to really move the needle on the perception of his coaching skills.
1 out of 5 is unacceptable and a goose egg should put him on the hotseat.
Good coaches can win with a few great pieces (Dobbs, Hurd, Barnett, Sutton, JRM) and average depth/talent everywhere else. They don't need bulletproof rosters to succeed.
There are a lot of coaches in FBS who would win 10+ games in 2016 given the talent level Butch will have at his disposal. Hell, there are quite a few who could win 10 in 2015 given our talent and schedule. That's why he absolutely needs to prove he's a better than average coach this season, IMO.
10+ wins to establish himself as elite
9 wins to prove he's better than expected
8 wins to maintain the status quo
7 wins to show he's a great recruiter and below average coach
6 wins or below and he's not the guy
