Dobbs needs a 2,500 yards passing season. He'll get 500+ on the ground provided he stays healthy. If he can throw for around 200 per game, the offense will be deadly.

Butch needs to win 3 of the following 5 to prove that the team has taken a big step: OU, UGA, UF, Arkansas, Mizzou.

2 out of 5 would be fine but not enough to really move the needle on the perception of his coaching skills.

1 out of 5 is unacceptable and a goose egg should put him on the hotseat.

Good coaches can win with a few great pieces (Dobbs, Hurd, Barnett, Sutton, JRM) and average depth/talent everywhere else. They don't need bulletproof rosters to succeed.

There are a lot of coaches in FBS who would win 10+ games in 2016 given the talent level Butch will have at his disposal. Hell, there are quite a few who could win 10 in 2015 given our talent and schedule. That's why he absolutely needs to prove he's a better than average coach this season, IMO.

10+ wins to establish himself as elite
9 wins to prove he's better than expected
8 wins to maintain the status quo
7 wins to show he's a great recruiter and below average coach
6 wins or below and he's not the guy

I feel like we should give Derek Dooley a second chance. We could buy Butch out of his contract and get back to old school, smashmouth football under the Dooley regime. Does anyone else agree?

Agreed. Barring the bad case of the injury bug of course.

Good post. Unless we are ravaged by injuries, we should win 9. I expect our defense to be lights out. So even with a major injury on offense (Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Wolf,...), I think 8 should be very doable.

From what I'm hearing is that the victim's claim doesn't have much truth, and seems to be changing her story. Pig & Mixon were witnesses and were at the scene. Don't know how long this will drag out, but from what I'm hearing Pearson should be back soon.

:good!:

Chances he ends up in Tuscaloosa??

Isn't he from South Carolina? I could see him at USCjr. I don't think they are happy with what they have at QB. Golson was pretty mediocre last year.

Another big pick-up for Barnes and the b-ball team. I can't remember the last time that we had two 6'10+ guys on the team, and we still have the possibility of landing a third.

golson was garbage last yr. Picks, fumbles, and sacks. Theres a reason hes leaving. He lost his job. I can see Bama, LSU and South Carolina fans drooling about this though. Not sure it would be a good thing for them.

if he goes to Carolina then Connor Mitch ( the current starter ) will prob transfer. Hes just a redshirt soph. Id rather have him for 3 yrs rather than mediocre Golson for 1 and lose my young QB.

dude turned it over 22 times last yr. 14 picks, 8 fumbles lost. He fumbled 12 times total last season.
