On the Nike brouhaha - the vast majority of quality recruits like Nike. Therefore, I like Nike. I actually do like many of their shoes - the flyknit lunar 2's in particular. Just as long as the uni's do not even remotely resemble the mess that Maryland wore, I am OK with it if the players are OK with it.

Boxer briefs. Obviously.

MV and VolDoc have me a bit worried. lol.

I am all for one Tennessee.

Never liked the separate athletic department's.

Nike will offer and suggest a lot but the decisions lie within. Do not worry.

Everyone is getting worked up over nothing.

I guess it is good chatter for the off season.

If it came to a vote Lady Vols would stay. As it should. As to allowing Nike to change our colors, no freaking way. Only a cheap sell out would allow that. An alternate uni is one thing,but this orange is forever. I cant believe that some are actually for that. I think of it like this: it's like Nike, a shoe company, talking your wife into getting a red mohawk. For 10 years. Sure, she's still going to be your wife, but damn you nike. damn you.

This is what I figured. I would guess that the whole reason they told UT athletics to stay hush hush about this is the very reaction you are seeing here. People overreacting thinking that Nike is trying to bully us. Our Nike overlords mean no harm, join the Borg. :)

Ok, time for me to get controversial.

If we have to have a distinction for Lady Vols, why don't we just go ahead and have the African American Vols, Caucasian Vols, Hispanic Vols, Asian Vols, and Mediterranean Vols?

While we're at it, why don't we go ahead and make it a lower-case T in the logo like Georgia did for the lady dogs (b1tches, sorry couldn't resist) Since they're just girls afterall, let's not call it a power T. We don't want them thinking they could have actual power, or be president someday. Let's call it a 'dainty T.'

I don't understand all the hubbub over this. I'm proud that my school (mostly) is getting rid of this stupidity of distinguishing between men and women. I can tell the difference on my own. We're all Vols.

Nike had nothing to do with it. This has been in the works before Nike was. Nike commented on the situation (probably because UT's PR dude, jimmy Stanton, is so incompetent they felt they had to). This whole thing has been botched time and again. But most of the PR here is.

And boxer briefs are best for a combo of restraint without suffocation.

Yup, it is dumb. So why the hell do we need a distinction for Lady Vols? Just because they become normal Vols (like they should be) doesn't mean any of the history is going to change. I promise our history will still be exactly what it was beforehand.

Wow...you really care what everyone else is doing don't you? I think most of us couldn't give a damn what every other school is doing. Screw em..they aint us. You think it's silly..it appears most former Lady Vols dont. I care what they think.
